Preferring tranquility to tourist crowds, we climbed the Monte Stivo, northeast from Lago di Garda (Lake Garda), rather than very popular Monte Baldo. The horse we met on the Monte Stivo’s slopes was only interested in grazing the green grass, but we admired the beautiful vistas of the lake and surrounding mountains. Taken in August 2001. Canon EOS 500N, 28-80mm. Post-processing, mostly to correct not-that-perfect optical qualities of the lens (character of the photograph not changed): some color & brightness corrections, retouching, dodge&burn, blend modes, sharpening (HighPass + Edges/UnsharpMask). ARTPH 028 – Farm Series / Based on photo taken by Shelley Stockton Wynn / 2008. The “Farm” is located in south central Michigan and belongs to my husband’s grandmother. In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing places to visit. The Grand River runs right through the farm and it’s beauty lends to the special feeling one gets when spending time there. It’s our little piece of “Heaven on Earth”. Grainery fence.

After good rains at last South Australia has greenery everywhere, these Geese were reveling in the cool under the gum trees next to the dam of a country property we passed last week. The hot weather has now hit the state and this week we have smashed the record for the hottest five days in Nov. and two more three more still forecast for 39 degrees so the pastures are drying out fast.
