  • Had a little fun at Pablo’s expense.. / Pablo Picasso’s Blue Period refers to a series of paintings in which the color blue dominates and which he painted between 1901 and 1904. / I decided to turn that into his “blues” period, hence he is holding a harmonica.. You know you want one..

  • Acrylic on canvas. One of my favourite paintings. My mother had kept a horrible painting from school in the house and I couldn’t stand it.. so I painted over it. The canvas had quite a bit of texture paste already on it which made it a little difficult to paint over but it added something in the end. You can’t see it as much in this photo for printing purposes. The first photo I had up showed the texture extra severly, which made it look like pixelation.. so I tried it again. From a sad old man playing a guitar, to a young woman with a cello.. better off I’d say.. Reference

  • Music to Digital Art: I could stay awake just to hear you breathing, / Watch you smile while you are sleeping, / While you’re far away and dreaming, / I could spend my life in this sweet surrender, / I could stay lost in this moment forever, / When every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure, I don’t wanna close my eyes, / I don’t wanna fall asleep, / Cause I’d miss you babe, / And I don’t wanna miss a thing, / Cause even when I dream of you, / The sweetest dream would never do, / I’d still miss you babe, / And I don’t wanna miss a thing. I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing Aerosmith – I Dont Want to Miss a Thing

  • Enjoy! _

  • Recently we did a test shoot for two really funny and crazy guys who also happen to make music together, Jase and Tom after their manager aeris saw my stuff on RedBubble and decided I am shit hot at what I do. (I’m working on the modesty bit, I swear.) Anyway they really really didn’t want to do a photo shoot in a smelly, public, and damp mens’ toilet so naturally I nagged at them until they relented. Then the first thing their manager said upon viewing this image was “That one’s for RedBubble!” So here it is.

  • Made in Photoshop with Wacom tablet. I hope you like it! (Gold version also available in my gallery)

  • Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / The exhibition theme was inspired by the Vivaldi’s music ‘The Four Seasons’. Mixed media – archival black ink, acrylic, collage – paper painted, mono & screen-printed, drawing, photo; screen-printed cotton fabric, carpet material; on canvas. Background: I had been working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm, movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation of any music requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, the knowledge, understanding and experience one brings to canvas for the moments of manifestation. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /

  • This is a geeky 80’s design created for the Earth Hour Challenge. / / If you understand it then it means you’re old enough to be a fair contributor to the world energy problem and an equal part of the solution. / / But what is the solution? / / Well it’s clear to me that not just one but a whole range of newer, greener, renewable energy sources will save the day and I believe that people like you and me should be given the option to choose between them on our power bill. Whether they be nuclear, solar, geo-thermal, nano tubes and so on. / / Freedom of choice is what we want. Which is in fact a lyric from that crazy 80’s pop rock band, Devo. / / The red things are the hats Devo alway wear which they call “Energy Domes”, claiming they can actually harvest energy from your own head. / / Now that’s a solution I’d really like to see. / / *This is my first attempt at using Adobe Illustrator so all comments and critiques are very welcome. / / / / /

  • Butterflies are Free Don’t close your hand / Just close your eyes / And I will stay right by your side / And if this world turns cruel & cold / Look to the skies / Don’t you see the truth? / The power of one, the power of two / The power of me loving you CHORUS: / Butterflies are free / Free to come and go / Free to spread their wings / Know that I know / You’ll come back to me / Cause love like butterflies are free You see a light / You hear the call / And if I don’t let you fly / I don’t know you at all So go on and roam / See all that you can / Born unto this earth a curious soul / You and you alone / can make you feel whole / But don’t I add truth / you’ve never known CHORUS The tighter the grip / The more you’ll resist / It’s human nature I suppose / But I’d rather be surprised by a kiss / Then under your control CHORUS Free to come and go / Free to spread their wings / Know that I know / You’ll come back to me / Cause love like butterflies are free CHORUS CHORUS Free to come and go / Free to spread their wings / You’ll come back to me / Cause love like butterflies are free Love this song, loved the movie in the 70’s too with Goldie Hawn and Edward Albert ;) This is an old pen and ink drawing that I did so long ago, photographed and edited in photoshop7 and Redfield plug-in fractilius ~ just keep reminding myself it is Spring…

  • Softly, as in a morning sunrise / The light of love comes stealing / Into a new born day—oh / Flaming with all the glow of sunrise / A burning kiss is sealing / The vow that all betray / For the passions that thrill love / And lift you high to heaven / Are the passions that kill love / And let you fall to hell / So ends the story / Softly, as in an evening sunset / The light that gave you glory / Will take it all away I was listening to this wonderful song and I had to do a painting in response to the lyrics…written by Hammerstein and Romberg, the song was recorded by every one under the sun…poignant and heartbreaking, it has always resonated with me…I hope the painting does the same with you. • This one has been sitting unfinished on my PC for a few weeks, I was just not sure what I wanted to do with it until last night when I was reminded of the beautiful song “Autumn Leaves”, originally by Edith Piaf (in French, naturally), but beautiful also in its English translation as below. This was one of my favourite songs to sing when I was a teenager and I have wonderful memories of singing this to the beautiful piano accompaniment played by my cousin Anina. :) This is a mixed media piece in which I digitally combined a roller ball drawing I did for the purpose, with a chalk pastel drawing and photographic textures and brushes. Proudly New Zealand-made. :) Featured in Imaginative Realism, Sept 26, 2009. / Featured in Dimensions Oct 11, 2009. / Featured in Inspired Art Oct 18, 2009. Autumn Leaves Artist: Eva Cassidy / English Lyrics by Johnny Mercer and Music by Joseph Kosma The falling leaves drift by my window / The falling leaves of red and gold / I see your lips, the summer kisses / The sunburned hands I used to hold Since you went away the days grow long / And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song / But I miss you most of all, my darling / When autumn leaves start to fall Since you went away the days grow long / And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song / But I miss you most of all, my darling / When autumn leaves start to fall I miss you most of all, my darling / When autumn leaves start to fall
