On heavy cartridge paper. I wasn’t sure whether to put this on here, it was an experiment this week. I used coloured pencils, watercolour paint and ink to create these images on paper. Elephants are such amazing animals (I have a small collection of them – ornaments of course).

Last week I went to check the mail and there was a huge blue- tougue lizard chilling out on my doorstep. I watched him for a while, fed him a strawberry, Then went inside and started painting lizards! My Favourite piece was this green iguana. / Enjoy. This collage has been FEATURED in the “Going Green” group! :) Back to my early “roots” in mixed media collage’ work…...I started making collage’ art when I was a young girl. My grandmother would spread out an array of old seed catalogs, bird pictures, markers, crayons, glue and such, all over the table and tell me to use my imagination. So collage’ work is the medium I’ve been involved in longer than anything else, except drawing. (I still have one collage card I did when I was 10! I found it in a box of memorabilia my grandmother had saved, after she passed away. It touched my heart that she had saved some of my childhood art work.) The base for this work is a very old sheet music cover that I found in a junk shop while looking through a ton of old books. It’s old and corroded looking…....perfect for collage’ work. It’s been in my stash for years! I finally pulled it out and laid it on my work table so I would work on it. It laid there for weeks while I’ve been working on digital art. It kept “calling my name” every time I walked by, so a few days ago I stopped everything else I was doing and put this piece together. I adhered the old paper to 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper for sturdiness and to keep it intact. Here’s how the largest print size looks matted and framed. /
