views: 433 / favs: 15 Image straight from the camera. Taken on January 11, 2009 with an Olympus FE-340 It was the first day of the year that the weather in London was beautiful so I spent the day outdoor walking through the parks, and the squirrels are very friendly. This particular shot was in Green Park. While I was trying to set-up my camera to take a photo, this little guy suddenly climbed up my leg! (I missed the opportunity to take its picture while it was there) I looked down at it, and it looks to the side as though saying “I didn’t do anything…” (see image in first comment), then it runs behind me and tries to climb up my knapsack; then runs in front me, spirals up the pole and pokes its head to the side going “Peek-a-boo!” After it climbed down I brought my hand out. It grabbed my finger for a little while, but took off before I could get a picture then :-( ... But atleast I captured the funny Peek-a-boo moment! The light and dark areas in the eye may look like the iris and the sclera of the eye, but that is actually caused by reflections; The dark bit at the bottom left corner of the eye is a reflection of myself with the camera:
Inspired by the song The Days Of Pearly Spencer which was based on the story of a homeless man in Ballymena who was befriended by David McWilliams. The song reflected the writer’s deep humanity and his empathy with those who live on the margins of society. / Source Many thanks to Gregoryno6 who reminded me of this song last year, it’s been whirling around in my head since then. Thanks also to my wonderful friend Paul who constantly inspires me. More inspiration Earth day 2009
Winner of the Challenge – Stripe Time – in the group Bubble Boutique – July 09 – thank you for voting! Place second in a selective colour challenge in the Contrasting Perceptions Group – July 09 – thank you! Featured in the group Moms 4 Art – June 09 – thank you so much! The plan was to shoot some fun shots of Perrin (13) in the socks, but while we were busy, Hudson (4) decided he needed to join in the fun. When he plonked himself down in the middle of the shot, I saw an opportunity I couldn’t resist. ( : Canon 400D, pp in photoshop cs2

A portrait of the Green Long Legged Fly, or Dolichopodid Fly. If you have these flies in your rose garden, it’s a good thing, they love the taste of Aphids. I waited and hung around these guys for a long while, and didn’t unfortunately catch one eating. Not sure how often they do eat. Captured in the Northern Suburbs of brisbane, sitting on a common garden shrub leaf. They grow to about 6mm in length, and usually bright coloured green in colour. Some varieties have black patches on their wings. Canon 5D Mk II, 65mm, 4x. Available very large, and best appreciated large!
