This shot recently recieved 2nd place, out of nearly 3000 entries in a February ‘08 contest on another photosite. So now we can reveal how we did it. This is actually three separate shots of the same female Calytpe Anna hummingbird in three different positions as she hovered to approach and land on the feeder. I layered each shot over each other, aligned the feeder, masked & blended each layer to expose each bird and merged them all into one image to give the appearance of three separate hummingbirds lined up at the feeder. Work done with Corel PSP-XI

I took this shot from the Windsor turf farms today while following a storm which hit about 5 minutes later.. It is an HDR shot and I think HDR was the right choice as it shows details in both the sky and landscape.. / I have always wanted to try and get a storm shot while down at the turf farms because the scene just looks so typically australian to me.. / I decided to include the gate to break up the scene a bit and add something more to view than just turf and the sky.. / Anyway as usual all comments and/or thoughts are welcome.. / Thanks for having a look! Hello everyone, meet Kenny! Kenny’s a young baby tortoise.. He’s quiet and shy but very loving.. he loves to nudge Julian with his little head.. and with his super cute baby eyes, Julian can’t help but adopt lil Kenny as his godson.. (bet he didn’t know that lil Kenny will outgrow him in size one day.. kekeke…) Yep, Kenny’s currently living at the same beach Tim and Julian posed for Summer Fun.. XD / this is my first time coloring with a wacom.. pretty fun..
