“Resistance” because it associates a very human trait to the image which is that of resisting the plunge. I feel this way myself at times; standing on the edge of the next stage in life as if I were about to launch myself into a furiously raging river. It is not the longing desire for new experience and growth which is most prevalent at these times but that stinging moment of resistance during which one must decide to hang on let go. / The white blur on the wings of this blue dragonfly results from the strong tailwind pushing it to let go. I was torn between two titles for this image; “Launch”, due to the dragonfly’s perched position and resistance to the current of air literally forcing it forward, or the word “Resistance” itself. / This critter is a blue dragonfly, Common Pondhawk or Libellula of some type. There’s such a variesty of dragonflies it’s hard for me to ID them. If someone knows exactly what dragonfly this is, I would appreciate your letting me know. / /

I love this shot! Dont know why but I just do.
Thanks RB folks!!!
I saw this lovely rose at the florist today and just had to photograph it. It has had slight background editing to get the uniform black as the lower 1/3 of the picture was the counter. The rose and leaves has had nothing at all done to them. I have added three bubbles from my bubblefile. I had Mum who is 82 outside this morning blowing bubbles while I tried to photograph them. I just had to use them with this, taken with my kodakZ8612IS camera on the flower setting and manipulated in photoshop. thanks for visiting, cheers- Valerie

INSPIRATIONAL
Music inspires me to create I was listening to this song while making this 3D art.
When he left, / Time seemed to stand still. / She couldn’t move for weeks. / Her unbalanced mind told her, / he was right, / She was nothing before he came. / He directed her and it brought her courage / Finally, with him, she could stand up / Be with people…. / Life was worth living. But now she was back / Back to the beginning / Her life as she knew it was gone. / Without him, / Her ability to have a conversation / Had slipped though invisible holes / Like sand in a strainer, / Her words just drained away. / She always looked as if she was waiting / Waiting for him or someone else / Who would hand her the script. / A second rate movie star / Waiting for the director. / Her life was over…. One day, / A Delivery came. / It was a beautiful envelope / Tied neatly with a lovely red ribbon. / She opened the card and tears started to fall / It was from an old friend / A friend who had shouldered so much of her heartbreak / A friend who had always been there / With out judgment. / The card was simple and contained only four lines. It’s sad that he left you, If you need a director, / Look in the mirror. I love you Narration by Elizabeth Bravo

INSPIRATIONAL ART
It is the year 3012 and a thousand years have passed since mankind had polluted the planet to the point that we cannot even breath the air. Everyone must live in domes breathing recycled air, forced to look out and see the plant life that has become while beautiful so toxic that is touch is so corrosive it melts the flesh off in seconds. The waters that flow on the planet look crystal clear and pristine but due to years of toxic waste dumped into the oceans and billowing into the air, the acid rain has concentrated to a degree it is instant death to touch. I guess it would be a apt punishment for man to have to spend its time looking at such ethereal beauty and can never again feel the sand beneath our feet, the smell of flowers in the air, or taste clean mountain spring waters flowing over our lips. Seems far fetched? Hmm I wonder…. Only time will tell the path that mankind will choose to walk!
You hear many terms used by people describing the power of the essence of Earth. It encompasses the inner power pulsing in the very sub-atomic core of every cell on the planet. It is what separates the living materials from the inanimate. Each planet and animal has this energy coursing from it, pulsing with the life force of creation. Call it electro magnetics, chi, ki, primal energy, regardless, it is the essence of life. Throughout history many mystics, sages, and enlightened masters have tapped this flow and performed amazing feats which have astounded those who have witnessed it. Whether in healing of even manipulating the weather the result is the same, it is directing the earth essence with the power of our minds to effect a positive result which benefits the planet. What is not said is that everyone has the ability to tap and access this energy, what we do with it…that is the path of enlightenment! This was made with a combination of Apophysis, Bryce, and finished in Photoshop
Not that long ago a stroll through old growth forests was a sight many could experience, but due many of the governmental policies world wide we have consumed many of these ancient depositories of medicinal potentials. In many countries there has been some improvements in a focus on reforestation, but it will still take thousands of years for these forests to obtain the incredible majesty of the many ancient forests that have been lost. We can only hope that each and every one of us decides to take a positive action, not just for us, but for our future generations of children. Have you planted a tree lately?

CANVAS/PRINT VERSION created using wacom tablet, photoshop & scanned textures…while sipping a glass of McGuigans black label and listening to bat for lashes’ album two suns… this is the canvas version. i did 2 versions cos i liked the square format as a canvas print but it looks pretty shoddy on a card with the white strip at top and bottom… but of course you can always order card version as a canvas and vise versa if you’re so inclined! ;) see the card version Buy button versions at my Zazzle Store [Sold as a laminated print to an RB mystery buyer]
