This is exactly how it looked in 1989. The ivy stays here year round. It’s weird, because it’s barren outside; winter. But when you step inside (which isn’t hard..you simply step through the wall) it looks like a summer day. Very odd & surreal feeling. Taken last week, standing in the basement looking up at the back door. More from the abandoned farmhouse series soon. :) And Happy New Year everyone!! / It’s 8:37 p.m. here. This is Thornseat Lodge, a derelict house in Derbyshire, originally a Gamekeepers house, then in 1934 was turned into an orphange and was stopped being used in the late 80’s, now it is just falling apart, such a waste

I took this shot from the Windsor turf farms today while following a storm which hit about 5 minutes later.. It is an HDR shot and I think HDR was the right choice as it shows details in both the sky and landscape.. / I have always wanted to try and get a storm shot while down at the turf farms because the scene just looks so typically australian to me.. / I decided to include the gate to break up the scene a bit and add something more to view than just turf and the sky.. / Anyway as usual all comments and/or thoughts are welcome.. / Thanks for having a look! Ok so I have been trying to get a decent shot of this barn for months now. I finally am pleased. This barn is huge and sits right off of 95th st in Lafayette CO. Its a huge working farm (not sure what they work) the green and black suck me in everytime…..Hope I did it justice!! / HDR Processed and enhanced in LR / Mr Nikon D60 DSLR / Tamron 18-250mm / /

This shot was taken on the way home from a motorcycle trip to Dayton, OH. My buddy was getting a little ticked off at my wanting to stop to take this shot, as we tried to outrun the rain. Am I glad we stopped !!! This looked like an old church, that someone then had used as a residence for years. I LOVE the red leather chair on the porch, and the sky was just perfect for HDR. Taken with Nikon D300 and Tokina 12-24mm lens. Post processing included HDR treatment, and some dodge & burn.

Much Better Full Size! I love it when the titles I think up can work as double entendres. In this case this gorgeous empty barn … and the farm itself, I guess … do seem to be Finished … cloned off to the left rear is a housing development. It could also refer to the job of plowing and seeding … which, unless these are weeds (are they?) is Finished. But the title also refers to the fact that I’ve mucked around with this shot so much … and it has so many names in my computer (I tend to try to include what processes I used on a shot in its name) ... that last night when I did this version, the only thing I put to the end of the loooooong image name … was … “Finished.” And so, it stuck!! Original image taken just up the road from our house on April 6 of ‘09 in Montgomery County, Maryland, with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon/Nikkor lens. Photoshop cloning out of distractions and 2 duplicates created, Photomatix HDR from a single, hand-held image, dups at -/+2 eval, Photoshop for the addition of a texture, then into Paint for some blending.

Featured in “Landscape Photography” Moraine Lake, Alberta, Canada I knew going that I wanted a shot dramatically different then the standard “Moraine Lake” photo that everyone has. I took this photo in the early spring of this year, before the lake had reached it’s normal levels. Didn’t realize it at the time but I was very lucky to have gotten this shot as I came back 3 days later and the rock had already been completely submerged. Woke up at 2am and drove 2 and half hours in the dark and then slept at the lake for about 30 mins before going out to take pictures. Spent almost 4 hours walking the shores trying different shots. I was about to go home when i spotted this rock, I knew I had finally found the shot I wanted. Cheers
