Chapels everywhere … tiny little family chapels in remote places, slightly bigger ones in the villages, larger and more exquisite churches dotted through towns and the countryside alike … iconic and totally beautiful!
Greece’s typical blue & white – I found these shutters just simply irresistible :) Canon EOS450D with kit lens (18-55mm)
Taken in Assos in Kefalonia, just loved the colours, typical Greek / al fresco dining in colourful surroundings Canon 5D Mk2 / ISO 100 / F11
A very colourful cart full of flowers overlooking the bay in Argostoli, Kefalonia. / The town of Argostoli was devastated by the 1953 earthquake and very few original features remain. Although unlike Zakynthos town it was not rebuilt in its “venetian” style, it has an attractive waterfront which features a colourful fruit market, for farmers to sell their produce Please visit my website / / PaulThompsonPhotography Canon 5D Mk2 / ISO 100 / F16

The caldera is a dormant volcano. This view is in the town of Oia. Many archeologists believe that the lost continent of Atlantis lies submerged here. This image was used as a book cover on a book series entitled Travelers’ Tales.” It graced the cover of “Travelers Tales:Greece.” The houses of Oia are built into the sides of the island’s northwest cliff, thereby maintaining a cool temperature in the summer. This was photographed with a Nikon F3 using elite ektachrome, 100 asa, 1/250sec @ f/11 in Sept of 1997 at around 3:30 – 4 pm.
