  • Often the storm chasing day ends not with the last glow of the setting sun, but with a photogenic show of pyrotechnics dancing from cloud to cloud and into the ground and lasting well into the night. This strike was captured just a few miles from my home after a long day of driving and looking for marvelous supercells and their awe-inspiring structures. Typically, any isolated cells that form during the day in western Oklahoma will race through the portions of Oklahoma that I call home, I just have to drive back ahead of the racing squall line and on such days will end the hunt with a tripod and a camera on this gravel road. It isn’t a part of my public offered storm chasing tours, but instead just my time to relax, snap shutters and enjoy my favorite hobby – lightning photography. I’ve always hoped for a dead centered strike at the end of this long gravel driveway. So many times I have closed my eyes and envisioned this very shot. Then, one night in 2006 after a long day’s work of hunting down tornadoes I ended my chase day in this fashion, opened the shutter and waited – “bang” – I had it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Be sure to check out my company, Violent Skies we offer Storm Chasing Tours! It’s a great opportunity for anyone who wants to chase storms to improve their lightning photography skills and see awe-inspiring photogenic storms. www.violentskiestours.com

  • Carved by Nature's Wrath
    by earthairfire

    US$4.70–US$125.40

Carved By Nature’s Wrath / The 12 Apostles, Victoria Following a day of torrential rain and gale force winds, the sun shone momentarily, lighting up the moody sky, before plunging the rugged coastline into complete darkness. As night falls, a solitary waterfall is all that remains of the passing storms, returning the much needed rain to the swollen seas of the shipwreck coast. • The Great Kyoto Conspiracy
    by velco

    US$4.28–US$114.00

Geisha on a Mission in the city of Gion The training involved in becoming a Geisha is very rigorous, and because of this the numbers of Geisha are declining. Few young women in today’s society are willing to devote themselves to such demanding training. To become a Geisha, if accepted, a young girl must go through an apprenticeship that involves living with a head Geisha. This training period takes five to six years. During this time, the Geisha trainee must help with the chores and the running of the house, learn customs and social skills, and take music and dance lessons. After about six months, the trainee Geisha is called a maiko girl, and accompanies a Geisha on her appointments in order to become acquainted with customers. At about age 20, the maiko must make the decision to become a full-fledged Geisha or not. If a girl wishes to marry she cannot become a Geisha. This photo was taken on the streets of Gion deep within Kyoto at around 4pm, which is when Geshas finish their hours-long makeup and preparation routine and head over to the evening’s assignment. • "SINGING in the RAIN"
    by Aphoto4You IPA

    US$7.13–US$190.00

To better VIEW THIS PHOTO select option VIEW LARGER The Northern Cardinal is one of the birds that is found in the Rouge. ..............................The male is bright red, with a black bill, while the female is grayish with a pink crest and bill. They are fairly common in Ontario and Quebec, and have been sighted in New Brunswick…............................. They frequent woodlands; but cardinals may be attracted to your back yards, with bird feeders well stocked with sunflower seeds. They are shy; yet curious; and the slightest motion or camera sound will cause them to take flight. Photographing them with any degree of success takes time. The image was taken on a gray RAINY overcast day; the result being saturated colors…..Bird was singing on the tree…while it was drizzling rain…I was covered with rain coat and hat with camera wrapped in the plastic….so the title came to me as SINGING IN THE RAIN by Gene Kelly…. / / To EMAIL ME please do so at myart4u@earthlink.net If you like WORK please visit my other pieces by clicking on any icon bellow / / WORK in this GALERY is COPYRIGHTED and solo owned by artist….DO NOT COPY …not for personal or comercial use……Any reproduction, modification, publication, transmission, transfer, or exploitation of any of the Content, whether in whole or in part, without express written permission is prohibited. • Danger Danger!
    by Alistair Wilson

    US$3.71–US$98.80

This image was created at the Apollo Bay Docks early in 2008, went here for a holiday just as I was getting into Photography. I went down to the docks just as a storm was rolling in and it made for some interesting weather conditions! This pic was created from one raw file. I changed the exposures in Lightroom and then merged 3 images using Photomatix, increased the blue and green saturation levels in Lightroom and added a bit of contrast. This is the result! This is my most viewed image on RedBubble Click here for my other images of Victoria

  • ...Is a great woman. Or, in this case, four. I originally made this t-shirt (a satire on the Experimental Jetset tee, “John& Paul& Ringo& George.”) with iron-on letters, as some kind of “f-ck you” to the tiresome musical snobs who fawn over male deities like The Beatles and forget the numerous women in rock – and also as an in-joke between my partner and I, who both always say “Yoko was the best Beatle”. So many people asked me where I got the tee that I decided to make a finished version for you lovely RedBubble types. And no, it’s not Helvetica, but just like we don’t really need another t-shirt glorifying The Beatles, do we really need to let Helvetica get any more out of control than it already is? ;-)

    by Paul Compton

    US$3.99–US$106.40

Ink, tea, watercolour and pencil on paper. / Drawing I did whilst reading Wicked by Gregory Maguire. / When the Wizard of Oz first appears he is really a strange visual paradox – grand and terrifying but also ridiculously phony and, frankly, a little tacky.

  • "After the Rain"
    by Phil Thomson IPA

This was captured after a rain storm, while we were on holidays at Lorne. The sky lit up as though it was on fire, with the clouds reflecting the late afternoon sun and the resulting water lying on the pier also mirrored the sky and the couta boat, docked there.

Please select option VIEW LARGER to see DETAILED WORK / / “BISON FIGHT” / It was a snap of the moment when these two Bisons started to fight…..It was captured in the wild of Wyoming…. / The bison is a member of the bovine family. Commonly called “buffalo” (which is actually a different species not found in North America), it is the largest land mammal in North America. There are two subspecies: the wood bison in northern Canada and the plains bison which once roamed across much of the continent. The bison has a large head with relatively small, curving horns. Its dark brown coat is long and shaggy on the forequarters, including the front legs, neck, and shoulders, while the rest of the body has shorter, finer hair.
