finally i found some time to upload some New York stuff, / here the first one, shot in East Village, probaly the coolest neighborhood in New York. Camera was the Hasselblad 500 c/m, Lens Zeiss CF 80 2.8 at, i think, f/5.6 on Kodak Portra NC400 (the new one). Scanned with an Epson V700. / Was the first time to go on tour just with the Hassy, because i got my meter a day before, i stood there, with almost no guess about how to use it, but as you can see, it worked (and a guy asked me what the thing in my hand is, i aswered “its a lightmeter” he said ” oh how professional” i made a strange face and said ” jeah, at least it looks professional, i´m not quite sure how to use it” we went away with a grin on our faces..
Uhm.. Morning.. but in grayscale. I do more grayscale and/or black and white prints now, because one of my sons really likes them.
A stand of trees stripped bare by the volcanic blast of 1980. Photo was taken in the summer of 2002. The top half of the image is original except for the monochrome treatment. The bottom half is a mirage, or reflection, of the top half. In reality, all the trees shown here are standing on a hillside with saplings growing between them. This has been treated in exactly the same way as the earlier cottage shot and while I was about it I did three or four other images as well just for the heck of it! I’m getting to rather like this method for black and whites. Previously I used either Calculations or Channel Mixer but using the Lightness channel gives far more control over the end result. I should add that ! processed the original RGB version in Dynamic Photo HDR. / This Church is in the village of Walkaway, not far from Geraldton which, in turn, is about a four to four and a half hour drive north of Perth, Western Australia
A famous landmark in Ambleside, in England’s lovely Lake District. We were there in 1997 on a short holiday and got chatting with another couple who were also taking photos. Turned out they were from the next suburb to us in Western Australia!! The Aussies are everywhere! LOL / This was taken as a colour transparency on my Nikon F3 – darned if I can remember the settings – and converted to grayscale using the Lightness channel in CS3
