As I was on a nature walk, I saw all of these little leaves and they all looked like little hearts, so I collected some and shot them all over the gravel path I was walking on. Then all of the sticks seamed to curve and look like hearts too! I arranged the sticks and leaves and smiled as it was a beautiful heart against the rocks. Could it be that it was days before Valentines Day that my heart and mind were so inspired? Perhaps… / Well then the “Natural Love” card was born. (Of course I was also listening to French love songs while I was creating it..:) / I believe they are perfect for any occasion you want to express love…. At times when menacing skies deliver a statement formatted in dark clouds, make sure to read the small drizzle carefully. Occasionally known to be a person who doesn’t want his determination undermined by a rational argument, I ignored it. A mosaic of randomly placed stones left a peculiar grinding sound with each step I made, unbalancing me on a couple of occasions. The uneven surface, unfamiliar environment and cold southerly wind stretched the beach to its maximum size. Here they were, lying hopeless before me. The leviathans from green oceans of alpine rainforests have lost their biological contest. The faith may not be swift, but certainly inevitable for the beached whales of a different kind waiting for their demise on an unforgiving southern coast. I put my hand on them. Their rugged bodies felt eerily warm. No matter how big or strong one may be the law of existence refuses to give up on you. You can postpone it, but not avoid it. Life will be repossessed, the body recycled and today’s eternity will become history.

This photograph was taken using the TtV technique and is part of my TtV: Through the Viewfinder Series Photographed using a 50 year old vintage Argoflex Seventy-five and a Canon.
As I was just finishing up taking photos with a friend of mine I saw this scene and just couldn’t resist. I quickly set up Automatic exposure bracketing just the be sure and this is the result. Shot: Canon 400D + Canon 10-22 f/3.5 – f/4.5 @ 1/200, 1/400 (-1), 1/100 (+1), f/10, ISO100. Post-Processing: I used Photomatix to blend the three exposures and then applied some curves and levels masks as well as some sharpening in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

Not easy to do with these games… Still feeling a bit nostalgic for Scalextric and other racing games I grew up with. Moonrise on Melrose © Vicki Ferrari This photograph was taken on the Melrose Road, Albert (central New South Wales, Australia), in the 1980’s. This is a scan of the 8X12 print in one of my earlier portfolios – there has only been basic editing done in photoshop, to remove the inevitable dust and scratches that are prominent with negative use (which become really apparent once you have scanned the image!). Apart from that, what you see is what it is! This is one of my favourites. It was even used in a country music CD a few years ago! I was a bit impressed by that – chuffed almost! (yes, I was chuffed, not almost!) You can take pity on the person that was in the car with me, driving home at night and having to stop! I have to take a photo! (and how often do we do that?!) I hope you like this and thank you for looking and reading! Vicki Ferrari

This is one of my favorite back roads. I take this road when going to Hawks Bill Craig. This was taken in 2005, and the fall colors were to die for! / The road sides were logged later that winter, and man talk about ruining the beauty of a road! / So I am happy that I took this photo when I did.
