  • On our last trip to Scotland we came across a amazing old graveyard in the Milton of Campsie. Most of the graves were very very old and weather worn and you could not make out the writing in most of the cases. However it just had an amazing feel to the place…... at rest with the world. Time didn’t seem to matter here…

  • Captured at a old Pioneer Cemetery outside of Central City, Colorado…..lemme tell ya, this place is the REAL: deal, you expect to see Clint Eastwood outta the movie Pale Rider come through any second. Quite spooky and also, it is an area that just kinda puts ya in a time warp….. Thoughts welcomed!

  • Victorian gravestone, poignant in the half light, in the cemetery of a Norman churchyard in South Wales

  • Can you see them too?

  • I went to the cemetery today to just enjoy the peace and serenity. My wife and I walked through and read the old head stones that dated as far back as the very early 1800’s. It’s hard to not imagine the lives of these people and what it was like on earth in their time. What lives they led and adventures they had… then your mind turns to those they left behind. This headstone is the burial place of a husband and wife from 1921 and 1927. After all these years someone still leaves flowers on their graves in remembrance. / / / / / / / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography /

  • A crisp and breezy hillside awaits the newly rising morning sun. Passing clouds are caught in the whispering winds high above the horizon and the light catches each layer of the silken veils, creating great ribbons of gold, yellow, orange and blue. The silhouette of a guardian of risen souls bows in quiet prayer in a country church yard… Not a single bit of afterwork was done on this piece. It is straight from the camera. LavenderMoon~

  • This is the church of St Winnow, which lies on the banks of the River Fowey, just below Lostwithiel in Cornwall, England. The church was featured in the 1977 BBC series of Poldark, which starred Anghard Rees and Robin Ellis, as Ross Poldark. This capture was shot in colour, but converted to B+W with an IR filter in CS3. I quite like the effect, and I hope you do too. / Thank you for looking. Best Viewed Large. Pentax K110D. / Pentax 18-55mm Lens.
