Winter is over, Spring is here. Weary Ant has gone to bed, and Grasshopper plays for the moon. / ... / Inspired by Aesop’s fable about the Ant and the Grasshopper, although I prefer the happy ending where Ant shares his food with Grasshopper, and Grasshopper plays for the ant colony every night in return.
Just an experiment based on an older photo of mine.

as is… / this was a lucky shot . I was shooting flowers when I saw this grasshopper standing on a basketball base and gave it a try without changing my camera settings, to be sure not to miss it (yes, I quite often scare them ! lol) / I liked the dof and how it peeks out of the smooth and light surrounding. / and how curious this little cutie looks ^^ / so here it is =)

I do this a lot lately….
My mom told me to upload some of my other work that’s not on here yet (but is on my DA gallery), so who am I to say no to that? =P This is a bit weird maybe, but it’s an illustration done for school. Our assignment was to take a real insect (we were given dead ones) and turn it into something that would be half mechanical. I have to say this was a real challenge for me, as I’ve never really drawn anything mechanic before (I can’t even draw a car or bike or anything like that). =P But yeah, this is the result, which I’m fairly happy about. All done in coloured pencils on paper.

I must have bugs or insects on the brain or they are following me around because everywhere I go to shoot a picture it seems the bugs get all the attention. And – lol – I really dislike insects and bugs! But this guy had an apparently voracious appetite as he’d devoured most of this beautiful bright red zinnia in no time at all!
