I’m pretty sure it was the first time I had a raspberry, and ever since then, eating one gives me a sense of nostalgia: In the summers of ‘99 and ‘00, we flew to Oregon to visit our extended family: cousins and great Aunt/Uncle. Our cousin grew raspberries in her backyard… so everyday (literally) we would pick raspberries, eat them, and make super yummy jelly (do you know how much sugar goes into that?). Anyway, ever since then, when I eat a raspberry, I automatically think of those fun Oregon summers: gazing at the mountains (for the first time) / trekking through Silver Creek Falls / climbing from rock to rock in the tide pools / cringing at the boy cousins testing the sea anemone’s venom with their tongue / taking driving lessons (at age 10) / trying cherries from a real cherry tree / feeling the freezing cold ocean waters with one toe / picking an ear of corn from a neighbor’s (whoops) corn field / staying up til midnight playing ping-pong and Foosball (and getting into fights about it) / watching "That Thing You Do" a million times / and laughing away during our eventful campfires I won’t ever forget all the fun we had… but somehow I think if I visit again, it won’t be the same…. for now, I am fine with just my nostalgia.
Playing in Illustrator….I have been taking Chinese Brush lessons for awhile and thought I would try it on the computer. I like what I got.
