I doubt most people are even aware that the Eastern plains of Colorado is actually in Tornado alley….the summers out here can be not only dangerous but deadly as well. Generally I try to stay away from this part of my state in the late spring and summer months…tornado’s just scare the heck out of me! Though I must admit, I would sure go chasing them with with storm chasers, and it is my understanding that for a $100- a day, you can take a trip with them doing just that. I may have to do this next summer, camera gear in tow :) I captured this on a late summer evening, oddly enough looking east, the opposite direction of the Sunflowers Fields I photographed. This supercell caused some havoc some 75 miles away from me, and later in the evening dropped down several twisters. However, what got me was the light, and how the whole storm was reflecting the sunset, even though the sun had already set. It is amazing to think that even though something as beautiful as this in nature, can also be deadly. Garden Of the Gods Park, outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is without a doubt one of my all time favorite places to shoot at….the light there just dances, especially during the golden hours just after sunrise…..Pike’s Peak is in the background, with the wind blowing the snow into the sky. / Thoughts welcomed! This is an Etching on acetate. Then it is printed on the printing press. So this etching is a print. So far this print is in the making…at the moment, this is the preliminary etch and hand coloured in watercolour and pen. I will be adding the completed work in about 2 weeks from now. 275 views on 27/11/09 This etching is in collaboration with the artist Barssel and his photograph / Artist photograph He has kindly given me permission to use his images for my printmaking process. / I am MORE then pleased at how this one is coming out. I am majoring in printmaking this year at Chisholm Frankston. Its my goal to be a printmaker artist. To say I love it is an understatement. I hope you like “Girl in the Grass 5” BillyLee Barssel’s photograph that inspired my print. /

I was playing around with styles at first and kept placing the image through filters for the background. Then I added different photoshop brushes to create my theme and this what I came up with. I love the colors. /
