After some weeks of devoloping this piece in my mind it finally just started to come together. As usual I went at the theme with something different in mind. What are we to say about how the divine eye sees our world or we may see the divine world in comparison to our own. This thought inspired a more surreal feel to the finished product. What do you call the light that permanently imprints itself into the deepest corner of your cerebral real estate? Just a memorable one, divine, sublime? The star was going down fast, as it was just a matter of ‘to get it over and done with‘ a daily sunset routine – until that moment. Like it was switched on by some all powerful hand residing somewhere in the center of a kingdom of light, the sunbeam reached across the valley, bringing all the associated attributes with it, like joy and warmth, just for a few moments, before disappearing altogether. The blue cold haze drowned the beautiful Hawkes Bay valley, but not before the last ray of sun got there first. I was standing in awe … for a while in fact, still in disbelief. Review button and LCD screen confirmed it did happen. Sweet. I’ll treasure selfishly the melody of breeze passing through the treetops, the smell of golden grass and feel of fallen leafs under my feet. Not to worry, I left something to share with you. Here it is.

Ok, I admit, I made it rain on the poor spider’s home. Not only did I chase it, but I flooded it’s home with water from spray bottle. I couldn’t wait for the real rain to fall, in case the spider’s web disappeared. All I’ve done to the image is brighten it up and place a slight little frame around bottom edge.

I didn’t plan on ever uploading this, but I’ve really come to like it. I’ve had it as my desktop background for a few days, and, despite its simplicity, I really enjoy it. This is a photo of a painting (original too big to scan) with slight colour changes made in Photoshop. The light effect was caused by the camera flash, and I thnk it works even better than the way it was painted. Used as background for Wish Upon The Rain
