I’m trying something a little different now. I’m gauging my productivity on a given piece in excel. This piece took 43.36 hours in 47 sittings. I started before Thanksgiving. My husband made me cry once when he said he didn’t see the 43 hours. It looked too much like the original photo. Maybe that is a complement in disguise. He wondered why put in so much time to something that you will not be compensated in kind. That is a universal question for all artists. / The only answer I can come up with is the same reason people climb / Everest—because it’s there. The challenge is there. I want to see how close I can bring out the sparkle of the mask and the smoothness of skin in the same vector page. I hope people like it.
