Recently I was offered the opportunity to shoot the 2009 Mardi Gras in Sydney, which has been a very new but also an exciting and fun experience for me. The Different Light series is from the Harbour Party event which at times for me resembled a typical music festival, except there was no angst, fights, idiots, louts etc etc etc. Had an excellent time and very much appreciate the opportunity to be part of it. Sunny field in Norway right before sunset.
Today is a warm day here in northern Germany. / My young dog, aged 10 month, loves to be in the garden. But sometimes the sun is too much for her in her black fur. Because of that we bought her a little pool. When we started to fill it with some water, Olga, that’s her name, started to jump around us, trying to play with the water hose. We couldn’t stop laughing. I walked back inside to get my camera. Back in the garden again I found Olga, proud as only a dog can be, because she finally had captured her “prey”. That is the moment you can see on this image. It is not one of the best images here on RB – far from it to be correct – but it shows how difficult it can be to capture a black dog. This is one of the better images of Olga. This time I have got some details of her body because she lay in full sunlight. Inside the house I never get good images because she seems to melt into the surrounding. Anyway, I’m helplessly in love with this young lady and that is why I want to share this snapshot of her with you. You may ask what breed she is… I don’t know exactly but believe she is a mix out of a flatcoated retriever and a border collie.
