Yep, says it all, especially in this day and age. It seems our rights and liberties are under attack….many photographers these days face stiff questioning from authorities whom have actually no right to do so, in asking us what it is we are photographing, for whom, and why we are. We are stopped, looked at, observed, harassed, detained, questioned, arrested, cited for laws which don’t exist, when all we want to do is capture something we see beautiful. All because many of us are thought to be terrorists….now you can show em exactly what ya think with this shirt!

The centerpiece and inspiration for this design comes from the antique Rollieflex camera. I wanted to pay homage to the antiquity of photography, one of the newest, yet most popular current art forms. The orange coloring of the camera was inspired by the French style of painting where an outline was painted onto the canvas at first and colored later by an imprecise wash. I used a sans font for the main title, with modification, and mirrored it. Check out my design blog designbysolo.com to view photographs of a printed version of this and other prints. Dedicated to my father who passed away 9/15/08. Ephemeral: Lasting only one day. Lasting a very short time. I created this using various old images I had laying around and played with it in Photoshop. I almost feel like I should have a poem written for this piece, but alas, i am not a writer! The original photograph was of a dozen roses. After painstakingly removing all but the single rose in Photoshop, I applied several gradients and filters to achieve this final effect.
