This tshirt design is based on a pattern on a pair of retro pottery vases dating from around the 1930s that I picked up in a flea market in Dundee, Scotland. The design is a cubist flower and leaf pattern in deep red, blue, green and brown. I like to think that they were inspired by a student of ceramic designer Clarice Cliff, maybe even Clarice herself, as the vases put me in mind of her Bizarre range. I therefore offer my interpretation of the design as a homage to the great Clarice Cliff.
