Back to colourised images until I go out and shoot some more stuff! Was out walking in a local wood with number one daughter and telling her about little red riding hood. She actually pointed out this shot saying ‘is that the way to nannas house?’ So all the credit goes to her!

Constructed in 1866 by Elijah Oliver. He was the son of John Oliver and born in the cove in 1824. His original farm was destroyed during the U.S. Civil War by Confederate marauders. This cabin is considered a dog-trot cabin sence it has a breezeway between the main house and kitchen.People in the cove didn’t turn away strangers who may need food or a place to spend the night. The closed in portion of the front porch was a “stranger room” Elijah built for this reason. This cabin is located a short hike from the Cades Cove Loop Road in the Great Smoky Mountain NP

.....sang Billy Connolly on the theme tune to Supergran in 1985, well my Gran doesn’t have a flying bike, but she totally ripped it up at the esteemed Goodwood racecourse in a Lamborghini, a Ferrari and a Porker (not pictured, because they suck). She clocked up 135mph on the straights, that’s 217kmh in new money. She’s 90, in fact, she’s well into her 90s. And she makes awesome raspberry jam. She has the lifeforce, and I have her haircut, so be my reckoning I’ll be powering a Bugatti Veyron round the M25 in another 62 years. / (My Gran is not called Beryl, in case the colloquialism escapes you)

The title references all those old crocheted doiles you can see in theredoing double duty as flowers and lichen. Really it’s my darling friend Janny’s garden paling fence, with her old-fashioned scrambling roses climbing up.

I have been stalking my fruit lately…..the natural colors are so pretty and vivid….but I did have to fight my kids from taking the apples and grapes from me….(Grape shots are coming soon lol)

GRANNY GREEN’S STEPS Granny Green Steps were built as part of Dance Base, designed by Malcolm Fraser Architects and completed June 2001. The project was funded by a major award from Scottish Arts Council Lottery with additional funding from Edinburgh World Heritage Trust, City of Edinburgh Council and a number of other trust bodies. Dance Base is intimately linked into its physical and historical context. In its development of the abandoned backlands, re-use, repair and expansion of physical elements and traditional mediaeval urban patterns (Close, Vennel and Flodden Wall) and provision of elements of amenity (the Park at Granny’s Green) Dance Base reinvigorates the area, at the same time gaining in itself from those relationships. Yes a picture of my Grandmother. I just booted up my PSCS3 and this was the first good slide I saw that I had not worked on already. In honor of her and me being fully back on line as it were. She was a Catholic woman who did more than her share to raise us kids when our Fathers were not being all they could be. She liked to dress up and wear boots and be the center of attention. She regretted growing older, and did not like this photo when she saw it. It is good of her however so here it is.

We all have to follow water restrictions, no exceptions!! / I made a pond for the geese, when I had more than one, but can’t fill it so she has to do with a “granny wash”. / This was a late hatching goose and the mother had left the nest. The egg had started to hatch but would have died if I hadn’t taken it and kept it warm. I put it down the front of my shirt to keep it warm and when it was hatching I held it in my hands. We called her bubby until a better name was thought of but 2 years later and she is still Bubby.
