  • This shot was taken with a Canon AE1 35mm camera about 15 years ago and scanned into the computer. Then I tweaked it a little in Photoshop Elements 5 High on top of Carn Brea (700 feet above sea level) you will find Carn Brea Castle which looks out at some stunning views of the surrounding countryside of Cornwall. Redruth, Brea, Carnkie and Camborne are a few of the towns near by. The Castle itself can be traced back to 1379. It is a stone twin towered fortress, built by the Bassett family and is inside the ramparts of the Iron Age hill fort. It was probably built has a hunting lodge, or as a chapel to St Michael. It has been restored and extended over the years, and today has the look of a modern folly, rather than a medieval fort. The views from this spot are splendid, and you can see for miles on a bright evening. / All the Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted or Uploaded In Anyway Without My Permission. • Cape Spear is the most easterly point in North America. Standing here looking out at the ocean, you feel like you are at the edge of the world.

  • This was taken in Little Lakes Valley, Eastern Sierras, Ca. I have submitted a few different photos from this hike and the lighting was just so intimate that I may just remember that day forever. This is the one furthest down the trail and closest to the mountains in the background. There are many meadows along the trail and they are usually very lush but by summer’s end they start to dry out like this. I thought it made for some nice contrast. You can see a little bit of the trail on the right leading into the pines.

  • This was taken on my way down from a long scramble up to Treasure Lakes, Little Lakes Valley, Eastern Sierra. It was raining a little here and there but I kept going because I’m not one to turn back once I’m 5 miles into a hike. Luckily the clouds began to break and it became a beautiful afternoon in the end.

  • One of my favorite hikes in the Eastern Sierras is through Little Lakes Valley. The trail follows Rock Creek to its source high in the mountains and continues on to connect with other trails. This was taken near the Mosquito Flats Trailhead in late summer. I still caught a few wildflowers in bloom since the valley is so lush.

  • Taken just after sunset at Canal Rocks, Western Australia.

  • From the Schoodic Peninsula, this image looks out over Frenchman Bay to Cadillac Mountain and Acadia National Park. The clear waters reflect the scattered clouds in a blue sky.

  • This is the HDR version of this photograph. The weather was really beautiful and ominous that day. Everytime the sun would peek out I would drop everything and set up my tripod. This is Little Lakes Valley and I’m still amazed that I live so close to something so beautiful. This trail eventually ascends Morgan Pass and up into the alpine High Sierras. You can see them in the far background.

  • Elephants Rocks, Denmark, Western Australia. For Beth, my twin-sis. Another image from one of my favourite places. The day of our visit, it amazed me how many people stood on the top of these rocks and then turned back to the carpark, missing the view of the rocks from this point and all the wonderful coastline around the corner. Still, that means we had it to ourselves!! For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail

  • As a keen rock-climber Mt Bishop has always held a slightly mythical fascination for me. Rock-climbers have named the giant tor on its peak ‘whale rock’ and the thinner of the two cracks on its left hand side has a classic grade 21 rock climb up it called ‘Cachalot’ which was the first significant free climb route completed at the Prom in 1977. I haven’t actually climbed it but some lines are just so bold and perfect that they just seem to capture the imagination. On a purely aesthetic level I find its combination of granite slabs, tors and vegetation very striking and due to its sentinel like presence guarding the road approach to Tidal River, it is a mountain that every Prom visitor is familiar with. For many the sight of it signifies the moment when you know you’ve returned to the magical place that is the Prom. Mt Bishop was named after Captain Charles Bishop a business partner of George Bass who commenced decimating the seal population in 1799 a year after Bass was the first European to visit the Prom.
