My son-in-law and granddaughter have a quick impromptu cool off frolic in my backyard pool. Leaping in and landing into dad’s safe arms. • My soon to be 13 year old granddaughter has been playing the violin since she was 3, with her upcoming birthday, thought I’d make her a T design that was personal to how I feel about her and her music passion. / As a junior high student, she currently plays first violin in a high school orchestra and will be doing 5 concerts this Spring in Italy. She is also considering attending a High School for the performing Arts in 2 more years. / But, I am not a proud Gramma – LOL ;) This is our SONG

  • Yesterday we walked in the Mothers Day Classic to raise money for Breast Cancer. I don’t know the exact numbers, but they were expecting around 7,000 participants in Melbourne alone. It was a wonderful day, next year we will make it bigger than ever. I walked with my eldest Daughter, my Daughter in Law to be and Granddaughter. I would love to think we would not have to worry about breast cancer by the time Eliza grows up. She is the reason why I walked the Mothers Day Classic yesterday, and will continue to participate every year.

  • Featured June 2009 Photography 101 / Featured June 2009 People and Portraiture Photography The steady grey-eyed gaze of my granddaughter Ashleigh – a force to be reckoned with, both now and in the future! Adored by her Nanna and shortly to depart to Darwin with her family. Not amused!! – that will make all three children and four grandchildren not only interstate, but in different states. • Couldn’t resist taking this shot of a grandfather giving his granddaughter a helping hand on her scooter in the really strong winds on the weekend. It was taken along the path at Cottesloe Beach, Perth, Western Australia. He kept a protective arm around her all the way along the path, to stop the wind blowing her off :))

  • This photo is very special to me. In my hand I hold my Grandfather’s 90 year old vintage Voigtlander Compur folding camera that he bought in Germany in the 1920’s and I’ve taken a photograph of my son through the tiny viewfinder. I cannot articulate the emotions this stirs in me. I bet my grandfather never imagined that one day, in another century, his beloved camera would be used by his granddauther (who he never knew) to photograph his great grandson (who he also never knew). I’m a sentimental fool…............... Best viewed LARGE

  • This is my granddaughter Lexi and myself before her leaving for California last summer. Thank goodness she visits each year as it was the hardest part of leaving CA 3 years ago, though Lexi and I share a phone date night each Sunday evening where we catch up with one another’s week of happenings. This 13 year old is responsible for teaching me how to use photoshop and becoming so interested in digital art. She will be visiting us again at the end of August 2009, can’t wait to see her. / When she was little, because of all the divorces and extra grandparents, she broke them down to descriptive remembrances ~ our was Gramma and Grampa Chicken because we had hundreds of them wandering our space there, other pet grandparents’ titles were ‘Football’, Cookie, and the list goes on… For a challenge, photo as is

  • A vintage look from the baby shoot with Eliza

  • A day that forever we will cherish / before their childhood does perish With glowing gossamer wings / to hear as enchanted life sings As fairies within petals of a rose / another costume change to pose Swinging on colored flowering vines / upon Gramma’s lap ~ smiles shine In a sepia garden cousins kiss / moments captured in relative bliss A gift of remembrance and youth / captured through the lens of truth Time has changed them greatly since / and distance of miles won’t be convinced Kissin’ Cousins were captured this day / in Gramma’s heart and on her walls always. TK Rosevear 9/5/09 While speaking on the phone with my granddaughter tonight, she urged me to get this piece up for the Art and Stories for Children challenge/Tribute to Children, as we reminisced about our photo shoot for my 42nd Birthday. The girls, my granddaughters, Lexi and Lauren, were dressed up as fairies in a toadstool garden, inset to the inside of a rose, then changed into these country dresses & bonnets to swing on a swing and set within this sepia garden. We were photographed together, each seperately and them as a pair for several hours of shooting. We had a wonderful day, and these memories are plastered throughout our cabin walls to remind me of a most beautiful gift. Didn’t think the Elvis song would be appropriate, so chose Lexi’s favorite singer, Faith Hill singing Fireflies

  • Took a few shots of our Grand Daughter on the trampoline as the sun was setting tonight. Just trying to get a good balanced flash with the setting sun. This one has had a High contrast orange filter applied and converted to b&w. / Nikon D300, 24-70mm f/2.8 at 38mm, 1/200 sec at f/4.5, ISO 200. / . / / / /
