  • Of thousands taken, my personal favourite grampians image.

  • A silhoutte of dead trees and branches with the red glow of sunrise on the horizion reflecting in the still waters of Lake Fyans in the Grampians…with a small crescent moon near the clouds / Taken on Fuji S3 Pro

  • Warm reds fill the sky and still waters of Lake Fyans in the Grampians at sunrise

  • A magical place that appears only in the right conditions – The water is shallow and floods across the flat base of the grampians – hence ‘Sheet Water’. A little known treasure !

  • Taken at sunrise from Boroka lookout, Grampians National Park, Victoria, Australia. Shot with a Nikon D200, 18-35mm lens @ 18mm, 1/3 sec, F/11, 100 ISO, polarizer, .9 ND grad filter. Only minor adjustments (levels, sharpening) made in Photoshop. BEST VIEWED LARGER Shot a few minutes after ‘Fire Rising’:

  • I have already posted a photo basically the same as this, slightly different angle, but after looking again, I think I like this one better. Any opinions? Please check out Melinda Kerr

  • Mackenzie River, Grampians National Park. Vic..

  • We were up early one morning to try for a sunrise shot from the Balconies Lookout in the Grampians, but all we could see was very dense fog. Nevertheless, Neil and I tried to make the most of the situation that morning. Some opportunities presented themselves that we probably wouldn’t have seen had there been no fog, here’s one of them. This tree really stood out on the rock formations and I thought it just looked great with the fog in the background. Hope you like it.

  • As always – click image for a better view / / A chilly morning on the Mt William range sees cloud and mist plummet off the ridgeline as the colder air sinks into the shadows of the range. Meanwhile the rising sun warms the rockfaces and slopes to the west, forcing the cold damp air to warm, rise and dry – thus lifting and dissapating the ‘downstream flow’ of this ‘waterfall of clouds’. / This ongoing spectacle continued for several hours and was a real highlight to watch and experience ! / / / / Fuji G617 – no cropping,no stitching. • In the centre, the Weem Rock and in the distance, the snow covered Grampian Mountain range seen looking over the River Tay near the Village of Aberfeldy in the Breadalbane region of Highland Perthshire (Breadalbane means “Highland Scotland” in Gaelic). Shot taken on Saturday 20th December 08 in the middle of our winter. The Grampian Mountains or Grampians (Am Monadh in Gaelic) are one of the three major mountain ranges in Scotland, extending northeast to southwest and forming a natural barrier between the Highlands and the Lowlands. The Tay is Scotland longest river, meandering across Scotland from Loch Tay before flowing out to sea at the Firth of Tay. Three bracketed JPGs converted to HDR in Photomatix. • I appreciate you taking time to view my work, and I really enjoy reading your comments. / Thanks for visiting :-) After shooting sunrises and sunsets in the Grampians with Neil and Lee, we finally got some clouds in the sky…well these were in the sky if you were in the valley, but high up on Boroka lookout, we were way above the rolling clouds. / ....it was such an amazing site. We met a lovely couple at the lookout having breakfast, who were visiting from England to introduce their newborn to the grandparents…just a magic place to have breakfast.

  • One of my favourite waterfalls; McKenzies Falls, in the Grampians National Park, Victoria. The size of these falls just amazes me, and the spray it gives off is so intense ~ well worth the hike up and down. I appreciate you taking time to view my work, and I really enjoy reading your comments. / Thanks for visiting :-) Photograph Details / Canon 40D w/ EF-S 10-22mm / Focal length: 22mm / ISO: 100 / Shutter: 0.6 sec / Aperture: f/13 / Filters: CPL & ND grad

What / you discover will be yourself ~ Alan Alda LARGE VIEW PLEASE One Of The Locals !! / Grampians ‘Geriwerd’ Np, Victoria Australia, the view from the Chimney Pots looking Sth towards ‘Dunkeld’. Olympus 570uz on Panoramic mode stitched in camera This was a walk we were’nt actually planning on doing but the lady at the info help desk in Dunkeld said it was worth the trip, ..........she failed to tell us that it took over two hours of rock climbing in parts to get up there, and l would have to admit l got very close to parking my butt and not going any further, but after a bit of perserverence made it to the top, it was worth it…................ The grading of this walk is ‘hard’ and recommended only for experienced hiker/climbers {she forgot to tell us that too} We now have a map of all the climbs in the area and l am going to purchase some decent shoes to do the next one !

  • Featured Colour and Light 20/09/09 ~ The mountains that lay dormant for so very long, / Until caressed by the waters rushing through them, / Awakened to new life that sweetly flows within. ~ ♥ Clive 09 Kalymna Falls ,Moyston near the Mitchell Plateau, this Falls sits in an area that was burnt out in the 2006 Bushfires in The Grampians National Park it makes a lovely contrast to the still charred surrounds , it really was shining its light this particular day,not much of a pic due to the challenging light situation, the positioning of the sun and the shady spots gave a very uneven shot, but it did show us this beautiful rainbow banding the falls giving it the appearance of holding the water against the rock / Canon 450d / Shutter 1/10s / F/20 / ISO 100 / Exp Bias -2 / FL 24mm / CP / Light Diffusing filters used This is an ‘AS IS’ shot

  • We were hiking back from Fish Falls when we noticed a mob of roo’s grazing in the rays of the evening light, this litle guy at Zumsteins in the Grampians National Park was curious but not concerned by our presence / As Is Canon 450D / EF 300mm Lens
