  • Studio 798 East meets west. Coke and tagging in Beijing.

  • A couple of Jack Russels captured in an urban jungle, combining the gentleness of lovely dogs with the harshness of the graffiti’d wall

  • Photography by Jenny Davis / Taken in Paris 2007 / This piece is connected to my interest in and continual research and documentation of underground spaces, surfaces, corners, crevices, signage ,graffiti ,consumer packaging etc . It’s all street art . Over many years I have used paint, photography and found objects to express myself in an abstract way, developing imagery from surfaces and spaces in urban and country enviroments worldwide. I am fascinated by the the beauty in the unseen, sometimes thought of as dirty and ugly

  • Cassandra’s signature character ‘Cassu’ in all her graffitti artist glory.

  • just for something totally different…. a snap of a tiny house somewere in Newtown in Sydney and it completely covered in graffiti…. which is not so strange in this part of town. Random urban beautification squads roam the streets looking for shabby inner city terraces to tidy up with some street art. I love that about Newtown. :)

  • well just like it says in the title this is a closer view of this old and forgotten mural on Erskinville Road Newtown…from the vaults of time and annals of history comes this image…. it now longer exists having be redecorated out of existence by the new owners of the building. Still it was up for a few years which is pretty good for street art. / . / That’s my Dad my sister and my three lads checking it out… back in the day hey…..:) / . /

  • another picture of graffitti on King street Newtown in Sydney. I had nothing to do with painting this one I only took the photograph. I’m scanning lots of older work and this was part of my history and the history of this wonderful vibey eccentric inner city suburb.

  • I’m not really a fan of text-only tees, but I was reminded the other day of this classic piece of graffitti, and couldn’t resist…

  • graffiti

  • downtown, los angeles, california / 1o.12.2oo8 .

  • just a random snap of a graffittied Stop sign in one the tiny tangled back streets in Newtown…. and it makes a lot of sense to me…. if we all stopped driving so much it might have an impact on climate change….. and it’s climate change that is behind the blinding fury of the devasting holcoust of fire that is laying waste to most of Victoria at the moment…. so this is my thought for the day…. please if your just going down to the shops for some milk and suchlike… how about you just walk instead…. ?

  • this is another random inner city snapshot to go with the shot I just put up called… thought for the day…. stop driving when you are meandering about the place taking a few photo’s …. remember there is always someone watching you…. always…. even if it’s just a face on a wall somewhere…. we are never invisible… always there will be eyes on you…..

  • Click on any of my pic’s below to be directed to their page!

  • This was taken in one of those ‘special’ alley ways in Melbourne.

  • this relates to a famous old bit of graffitti in Newtown that I allways loved….

  • making graffitti can be very tiring and sometimes you just have to have a little rest before doing the next bit….. / . / . /

  • this is not really a graffittied house and not really an fully fine art house but it is in Newtown and just sort of blends right in nontheless…. so I’m not really sure what to call this random snapshot of my old stamping ground… maybe an abstract art house? not sure but I like it for all that it’s not really one thing or the other…. just another little slice of life in the suburbs of the innercity of Sydney / . /

  • another old mural from the vaults… this was quite a contentious painting at the time and attracted quite a bit of vitriol …. it’s located on Erskinville road and although it’s still in existence a dirty big house got built on the empty block along side it so you can’t see it any more… probably a good thing as it got badly flamed and nastily tagged by various factions arguing the abortion question with paint and stuff …. shame really as I always liked this one and it was never meant it to be the site of a war….. still I guess the control of womens bodies has always been problematic for some in the community ….. / . /
