  • Banksy – East London

  • This classic Banksy stencil used to be up on a wall along Clerkenwell Rd, London. Unfortunately, after having been covered up for the last few weeks, it is now gone and to make matters worse, similar ‘Banksy Disappearances’ are happening all over London. Through either being covered up with board or by removing the entire wall or (as the case was with this piece) by being completely whitewashed out. It is a real shame as it is the public who are the ones that miss out.

  • A stylized J-pop style Tag of the word “gizmoe” If you like my designs please check out my site at www.mrgizmoe.com

  • This stencil was created in early 2008 inspired by fashion photography and damp cold London. Recently cut stencil with one layer from an older stencil of a zebra in pink on her dress, with hand drawn cobbled stones. The canvas itself is 3 times in length this is just a mere snap shot of the original piece. This piece is 1 of 3, utilising the same same stencil and composition of works I’ve posted on Red Bubble at the moment. The other is ‘snow and umbrella’ and ‘rain birds’

  • Angel Spray / How times have changed. Graffiti/street artists are so mainstream now, they have become the angels and darlings of the modern art world. Currently, six internationally acclaimed street artists are being featured at the Tate Modern in London. They have each created a huge piece on the facade of the iconic London modern art gallery. • I’m a big fan of Dr.Who, and I love the Daleks. I wanted to make a cool T-shirt design which incorporated them, and this is what came out. Let me know what you think. :o) Enjoy!

  • With 6277 views 71 favouritings and 3 sales, this is probably by far my most popular image: / I shot it on my first digital camera, a Canon Powershot S80 compact in the main street of Kempsey NSW on a particularly trying road trip for work. It was a lucky shot, I just thought the billboard was a fairly self-reflexive thing to find in a rundown country town, but when this dejected guy limped into the shot it made it into a poignant statement. Having moved on in the equipment and (hopefully) skills aspects of my photographic practice due mainly to the encouragement I received here in the early days, I often look back at this image and see things I could improve with it. One of the assignments for a course I am doing is to convert an RGB image to greyscale. I’ve applied noise reduction, and unsharp mask, then tonal and exposure adjustments in the green channel. After converting to greyscale, I’ve despeckled it a bit and clone stamped out any larger specks that stand out more in greyscale. I’ve also cropped it a bit tighter and increased the resolution by decreasing the image size rather than interpolating. Wow, that was boring. Anyway, please enjoy the new mono version of Living. “You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake…” / / / / / / / /

  • John Lennon Wall, Prague / After John Lennon’s assassination in 1980 mourners in (then) Czechoslovakia painted images of Lennon and words of love and condolence on a large inner-city wall in Prague. The communist authorities had the wall painted over. Undaunted, the fans put up new poems and art, and thus a tradition began. No longer painted over by authorities, the John Lennon wall is a massive artwork in progress, continually being painted over and over and densely layered with words of love and peace from individuals all over the world. Power to the people, right on! /
