Cougar taken at Arizona Sonoran Desert Zoo near Tucson, Arizona.
Bored on Saturday eve at the coffee shop, so yeah, the cure for boredom is photography with massive amounts of editing to create an image with a spiritual feel. Model is of course, the inimitable Maria.

This tree root is on the northern periphery of our property. We’ve lived here for over 35 years, and it’s been here all that time, in exactly the same state you see it here. I marvel at its perfect heart shape and think it’s a little note from God to remind me of his undying love. I borrowed the title from the refrain of a hymn written by Father John Foley, S.J. / Here are the lyrics of that hymn: Dwelling Place / by John Foley, SJ I fall on my knees to the Father of Jesus / The Lord who has shown us, the glory of God. May He in His love give us strength for our living / The strength of His Spirit, the glory of God. May Christ find a dwelling place of faith in our hearts / May our lives be rooted in love, rooted in love. May grace and peace be yours in God our Father / And in His son. May Christ find a dwelling place of faith in our hearts / May our lives be rooted in love, rooted in love.
/ / Embracing Light is a self-portrait taken from photographic artist Jaeda DeWalt’s The Invisible Light series and is a part of the DeWalt Gallery collection. About this image / For me, this self-portrait celebrates dark and light co-existing as illumination. Meister Eckhart once said, “the ground of the soul is dark.” Darkness itself, shines a truth, that light on its own, can never know. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / Available for sale as Laminated Prints, Matted Prints, / Posters, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / This image is featured in Jaeda’s Artography Book! / / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / You might also like . . . / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / browse Jaeda’s photographic art by category: / dreamscapes, artistic nudes, couples, glamour, erotica, conceptual, sensual, portrait, spiritual, survivor art / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / /
This image is part of a series of work titled ‘Playing with the Light’. The images were produced while on silent retreats. They reflect the experience of being in the ‘now moment’. We spend so much of our lives with our mind either in the thoughts of the past or the future. We are often gasping at what we desire or rejecting what we fear. Rarely are we actually aware of the present, yet it is here where peace lies. Our mind rushes here and there, unable to experience any real sense of what is around us and how we are feeling. With a still mind we become aware, each moment is alive and free from the pull of desire or fear. We find that happiness is not something out there but instead something that happens naturally when our thoughts are silent. Yet meditation is not something that happens only on retreat or when sitting still. To me meditation is simply being present, observing my thoughts and circumstances at that given time. It is the act of being constantly present in what ever I am doing, where ever I may be.
A Window of Compassion…. Avalokiteshvara is the embodiment of the compassion of all the Buddhas…One who empathizes with all living and suffering upon the face of the Earth so much so that he refrained from his own blissful attainment to become a Buddha until he had saved all the creatures of the Earth. / His mission – to listen to the prayers of all sentient beings and assist them to reach Nirvana – a state of ultimate bliss and the end of suffering. IN Tibetan Buddhism, he is also known as Chenrezig – Tibetan Buddhists believe the Dalai Lama to be the incarnation of Chenrezig. The Chinese depict this deity as the Goddess of Compassion Quan Yin. Whether Indian, Tibetan, Chinese, or simply one who chooses no cultural banner, the gift of compassion is a basic human right and aspiration…. to open one’s heart to non-judgment, unconditional love, forgiveness, joy and the overwhelming kindness that is symbolized by this deity is intrinsic to our very being. It is in the giving and receiving of compassion that the flow of all life on this planet is ensured. May you walk in beauty and the light of compassion…...

Here is my utmost. This is were life ends and death begins. It’s were death ends and life begins. In one picture is pain, suffering, injustice, judgment, helplessness, betrayal and the deepest sorrow; and yet there is an equal amount of hope, tenderness, compassion, forgiveness and healing. Here is a painting which captures the sacrificial love of Christ on behalf of helpless humanity, born and unborn. Philippians 2:6 says, “Christ who, existing in the form of G-d, counted not the being on an equality with G-d a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men; and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.”
When I saw this image it was like a gift from God!....The cloud formation was Angel’s Wings I had not one doubt about it….......I hope you enjoy it….I did a little editing, but the original is still available if anyone would like it…... / This image is copyright protected and registered: / MCN: CBCA0-7C4D2-9014B / The Original / / ___ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. Fallen angel without wings stuck in a dead tree. Photo based mixed medium art.
Where do you go when the world has failed you, / when those you sought to teach would not listen? / Where do you go when your joy fades to sorrow, / your oceans die, while your message washes in on a lonely tide, / and your brokenness is but a parting reminder for hard hearts to open? / When the oceans rise and your song is no longer heard, what shores await you….? / Where will you go? And might we with our healing hearts follow? Following on from my story about the mass whale stranding here in the south west I felt compelled to create something more…... to honour these beautiful creatures. Then I viewed the following amazing short clip (shame it’s an Optus advert lol) and wanted to share this with everyone….. / Please view Sales of this image will be donated to the Wildlife appeal to help the birds and animals who have suffered through the fires in Victoria.
ORIGINAL FOR SALE $400 plus P&H This mandala, in acrylic with metallic overlays, is a combination celtic/native american theme based around “Grace”. After Printz passed away quietly last week, I had a lot of empty time in my head and my home in which to quietly mourn his passing. But there was a lot to celebrate too – to give “grace” for… AMAZING GRACE The legend has it that Little Swan flew through the Dreamtime looking for the entry point to the future in her first flight alone. “As Swan looked high above Sacred Mountain, she saw the biggest swirling black hole she had ever seen. Dragonfly came flying by and Sawan stopped him to ask about the black hole. Dragonfly said, “Swan, that is the doorway to the other planes of imagination. I have been guardian of illusion for many, many moons. If you want to enter there, you would have to ask permission and earn the right.” And when she asked what she had to do to earn entry, Dragonfly replied, “You must be willing to accept whatever the future holds as it is presented, without trying to change Great Spirits plans.”“ (reproduced in part from : Medicine Cards, The Discovery of Power through the Ways of Animals, Jamie Sams and David Carson) The ‘medicine’ of this mandala is about SURRENDERING to the flow and TRUSTING what we are shown… through our healing and our acceptance of the state of grace, we earn the right to enter the Dreamtime. / Full Copyright applies
