A Window of Compassion…. Avalokiteshvara is the embodiment of the compassion of all the Buddhas…One who empathizes with all living and suffering upon the face of the Earth so much so that he refrained from his own blissful attainment to become a Buddha until he had saved all the creatures of the Earth. / His mission – to listen to the prayers of all sentient beings and assist them to reach Nirvana – a state of ultimate bliss and the end of suffering. IN Tibetan Buddhism, he is also known as Chenrezig – Tibetan Buddhists believe the Dalai Lama to be the incarnation of Chenrezig. The Chinese depict this deity as the Goddess of Compassion Quan Yin. Whether Indian, Tibetan, Chinese, or simply one who chooses no cultural banner, the gift of compassion is a basic human right and aspiration…. to open one’s heart to non-judgment, unconditional love, forgiveness, joy and the overwhelming kindness that is symbolized by this deity is intrinsic to our very being. It is in the giving and receiving of compassion that the flow of all life on this planet is ensured. May you walk in beauty and the light of compassion…...

lovely, lovely Grace
Woman walking in cloister
I was able to capture this image at a wetlands area of Vancouver Island, Canada, where Trumpeter Swans migrate from northern Canada and Alaska to spend the winter. This is a very large bird. I think of them as the 747’s of the bird world. They need a lot of space to take off and land. They often appear ungamely, their legs not meant for much walking, or supporting such a large bulk away from water. But in the water, or in the air, they become ballerinas, full of grace and incomparable beauty. Their trumpeting sound is unique in nature. These are birds that mate for life, and model ideals of parenting. This image was captured against a forest background as the bird leaves the marsh. Nikon D300, Nikkor f4 600 mm lens, ISO 200, f4, 1/400s. Camera mounted on a Gitzo Tripod with a Wimberley head.
More Than Religion / Mark 7:7-8 NIV: “They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men. You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.” / Brought up beneath the church rafters of modern Christianity, a believer can find himself or herself wondering, “What´s the point?” So much of what is done at church seems filled with repetitious recital and traditional practice. You have your dos to do, and your don´ts to avoid, but isn´t there more? There is indeed. We were not called into a relationship with Christ so that we would enslave ourselves to legalistic rules or complicated rites. We are called to come to Jesus freely and to find freedom in Him through a relationship unlike any other we could have. As we draw closer to Jesus, it is necessary to practice disciplines within our Christian lives. But, the dos and don´ts, repetition and tradition were not meant to become our focus, but to better enable us to focus on Jesus. We can do church all day,but only the religious practice that holds for us purpose and meaning to draw us closer to Jesus, will be the kind of religion that means anything to us at all….. / Mysweetlord ‘Thinking of you’..experimental digital creation..all proceeds to charitylink ....
... the black hole!...Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. (John 18:37) ...... a black hole as a region of empty space with a point-like singularity at the center and an event horizon at the outer edge, the description changes when the effects of quantum mechanics are taken into account. Research indicates that, rather than holding captured matter forever, black holes may slowly leak a form of thermal energy called Hawking radiation and may well have a finite life The as yet unknown theory of quantum gravity is believed to give the fully correct description of black holes…”cure””:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCjQN7mQAzI… a first experimental digital lens flare creation..featured in ‘Globes spheres & curve’....NRDC ......New nuclear power plants are unlikely to provide a significant fraction of future need…

Acrylic on oil painting canvas textured paper. Standard A3 I really didn’t have anything much in mind for this in concept, I just wanted to be unrestricted and let it flow in what ever direction I felt I wanted this to go in. I did have a reason for painting another self portrait. The group Bubbler Portraits is currently holding a challenge to paint a portrait of me and I am allowed to enter so I really wanted to attempt something new. I guess I ended up mixing a few different things I sometimes do in my paintings to end up with this result. When I finished it I wanted my beloved to know that I am always watching over him with my great love and prayers…that I believe completely in miracles and in the wonder and awesomeness of God…these were my feelings when I stepped back to view my work. MUCH love, beauty, joy and God’s miracles to you all!! Detail / / /
(Okay, so one is a little ill-formed yet and getting elbowed in the middle…aren’t some graces awkward?) In a playful mood, I decided to take one of the women from my pencil drawing Thirty Ninth Summer / and drop her into a forest that was done in pastels & watercolor for Morgan. The forest got a bit darker. / The girls got a bit lighter. / These things happen. / >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ~ Featured in Feminine Intent ~
