The Melbourne GPO. Its stands tall on one of the busiest street corners in the city centre. A heritage listed building, it was first constructed in 1839, shortly after Melbourne was christened a city. The 6 storey high clock tower was added in 1887, and from 1907 – 1919 a full refurbishment of the interior was completed. 2001 saw the closing of the General Post Office and the building was reopened as a shopping centre in 2004, which it remains to this day. One of the many fine examples of architecture that Melbourne boasts. I love living in this city :) Sepia filter added in post processing.
