  • This is a perfect depiction of the inner working of my mind. This photo was taken between 3 – 4 a.m. on one of the many cold nights I couldn’t sleep. I was staring out the window, staring into the darkness, feeling very aware of the cold, quiet beauty in the night sky.

  • There’s a strange light in NYC like no other. It’s as if the light has been bouncing around the same old haunts for decades… so much so that it’s slightly worn and yellowed at the edges. I’d never been to Tiffany’s, but there it was. Dying to see the forbidden treasures under guard inside the luxurious fortress, I wandered about the store oggling the fine sterling diamond-encrusted frogs, and glistening multi-carat dog collars. It was all so glorious and grand… that is, until I noticed my every move was being tracked by stern suited men with ear piece and remote-controlled surveilance cameras. At first I was crushed to be a “suspect”. The more I became ashamed of my own poverty, the angrier I got. How dare they! The arrogance! I only wanted to catch a glimpse of decadent opulence… just to dream for a few minutes. I had just as much right to be there as anyone. Soon, I was gradually herded back towards the multi-layered security gates and back onto the street. Back to the dirty-water dog steam and roasted chestnut aroma wafting and mingling with taxi exhaust. I took one more look back into the forbidden fortress and wished I had actually taken something from them. Then I caught it… a glimpse of that magically strange NYC light creating a dual reflecting dimension in one of Tiffany’s precious display windows… So, when no one was looking… I took that instead. • A photo of one of the coolest photographers that I know after a shooting session. Brought my gas mask in because it wouldn’t fit on my head. :) Yeah I know, not another gas mask photo, but hey, I’ve liked these things for a long time.

  • Some men look so good in makeup I wonder why wearing it ever fell out of fashion. I never felt it detracted in any way from their natural attractiveness and masculinity, and yet modern western views are quite black and white on the issue as a whole. I suppose goths have a more legitimate excuse… could this be why there are lots more around these days?

  • This is the second image for my Dark Fairy Tales with Alice in Wonderland. The Bottle labled “DRINK ME” was just too tempting to resist. What would happen?

  • Model – Danica/Nytevision I have no idea who the artist is who did the mural she is standing in front of. All I know is that it’s in Adelaide’s CBD and it’s awesome… and orange. / If you know, tell me. They deserve credit. / This is not a manip. Copyright 2008 Harmony Nicholas

  • Models – Trash Barbie & Midnight Poison Hot off the presses. Have yet to see the film shots from this set but this version can live here for now as a mini teaser. Think of it as unheard screaming. Clearly I watched Beetlejuice one too many times as a kid. / Inpsired by Richard Kadrey. Copyright 2008 Harmony Nicholas

  • Model – Mishkamink Regina Corvidae – a rare and gifted species, showing specific tendancies towards makeup, fashion and nocturnal behaviour. And Nick Cave. Copyright 2008 Harmony Nicholas

  • This is the Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo, in Spain. This was taken on black and white film. This was printed and then the print was manually (using chemicals, not Photoshop), changed to a sepia print by me, in the darkroom. The print was then scanned to digital. The seat of the Archdiocese of Toledo, it is one of the three 13th century High Gothic cathedrals in Spain and is considered to be the magnum opus of the Gothic style in Spain. It was begun in 1226 during the reign of Ferdinand III and the last Gothic contributions were made in the 15th century when, in 1493, the vaults of the central nave were finished, during the times of the Catholic Monarchs.
