“People Get Ready” / People get ready, there’s a train comin’ / You don’t need no baggage, you just get on board / All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin’ / You don’t need no ticket you just thank the lord People get ready, there’s a train to Jordan / Picking up passengers coast to coast / Faith is the key, open the doors and board them / There’s hope for all among those loved the most / There ain’t no room for the hopeless sinner whom would hurt all mankind / Just to save his own / Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner / For there is no hiding place against the kingdoms throne People get ready there’s a train comin’ / You don’t need no baggage, just get on board / All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin’ / You don’t need no ticket, just thank the lord / Lyrics by Curtis Mayfield.

When shooting this image and having only one sheep look up, I was reminded of the words of Jesus: John 10:27-28 27. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them and they follow Me. / 28. And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. /

in the little town i live in, townsend tn., we have this old timers bluegrass festival. / you will see people of all ages young and old, enjoying bluegrass and gospel music. you can see what the ” old days” were like with old tractors, old single engines running homemade ice cream machines, balers, all sorts of mechanical apperatis. / one of the things i love about the festival is how each little band forms their own circle, and just plays to whomever wants to stand around and listen. / there are fiddles, violins, cellos, basses, banjos, all sorts of musical instruments. / this one guy had what looks to be a guitar turned right side up, and picking it. / so something just said..shoot it..and i did :)

Just prior to sunrise over Corio Bay, on what was promising to be a rather wet and stormy day, at Griffin’s Gully, Geelong. These promising signs were spoken of by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, in the Bible, centuries ago. Matthew 16:1-3 The Pharisees and Sadducees Seek a Sign 1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. /

/ / I have always really liked guitar music, especially Country,BlueGrass and Country Gospel. So at age 50 I decided I was going to learn to play, and now I accompany my hubby and myself as we sing, I have an acustic electric and a plain acustic,
The Gnostic Gospels are a collection of early Christian Gnostic texts discovered near the Upper Egyptian town of Nag Hammadi in 1945. That year, twelve leather-bound papyrus codices buried in a sealed jar were found by a local peasant named Mohammed Ali Samman. / The contents of the codices were written in Coptic, though the works were probably all translations from Greek. The best-known of these works is probably the Gospel of Thomas, of which the Nag Hammadi codices contain the only complete text. / Amongst this wonderful collection was a Hymn to Isis. The complete translations of this collection was not completed until 1971. / Hymn To Isis / Because I am the first and the last / I am the venerated and the despised one / I am the prostitute and the saint. / I am the bride and the virgin. / I am the mother and the daughter, / I am my mother’s arms, / I am the sterile one, yet my children are numerous, / I am the married woman and the unmarried one, / I am She who gives birth and She who has never given birth, / I am the consolation for the pains of childbirth. / I am the bride and the groom, / And it was my man who nurtured my fertility, / I am my father’s Mother, / I am my husband’s sister. / And he is my rejected son. / Respect me always, / As I am the Scandalous and the Magnificent one. As a matter of fact after Frederick Douglass delivered his first speech at the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society’s annual convention, He then WOW the crowd with a solo that gave rise the new sound of Gospel Bebop.… EEEya Ssir!

I couldn’t do a music series without including a work inspired by my earliest musical influences…...I started singing in church at the age of 3. Some of my most joyful lifetime memories and inspirational moments were singing….in choirs, in pagents, in duos or trios or church bands. “Ode To Southern Gospel” is a tribute and praise to my God as well as to the music. AMAZING GRACE John Newton (1725-1807) Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, / That saved a wretch like me. / I once was lost but now am found, / Was blind, but now I see. T’was Grace that taught my heart to fear. / And Grace, my fears relieved. / How precious did that Grace appear / The hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils and snares / I have already come; / ‘Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far / and Grace will lead me home. The Lord has promised good to me. / His word my hope secures. / He will my shield and portion be, / As long as life endures. Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, / And mortal life shall cease, / I shall possess within the veil, / A life of joy and peace. When we’ve been here ten thousand years / Bright shining as the sun. / We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise / Than when we’ve first begun. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, / That saved a wretch like me. / I once was lost but now am found, / Was blind, but now I see. Here’s how it looks printed on CANVAS: /
