A feeding flock of Snow Geese takes flight after being scared from the cornfield at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. Often it’s a coyote that spooks them or other predators. While not equal in flock size to the morning fly out, these “fright flights” are an impressive spectacle in and of themselves.
Tens of thousands of Snow Geese winter at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. It’s quite a sight to see well over 10,000 birds all take flight at the same moment!
A clumsy, newly hatched gosling. (May 1, 2008)
Captured on an early morning at Denver’s historic Washington Park. Standing here taking in the scene, was just amazing, sheer serenity….so utterly quiet I didn’t even hear the Goose swimming by. Amazing that in such a large city, nature thrives, never knowing that this peace is surrounded by so many people. And for once, the world just seemed like such a better place….. —-—-—-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved.
