Taken from the Goodwill Bridge.
This little bough of purple flowers seemed to go nicely with an old Irish Blessing, a favorite prayer of mine for a long time now.
I didn’t think this line up and would credit the person who did if I could find it!
Landscape of QUT and some of the Botanical Gardens over the river. This is where I started my photowalk.
A macro shot of an evergreen forms the basis for this Christmas greeting card.
A nice send-off for someone embarking on a tropical getaway!
HDR image of an antique convertible firetruck that has not raced to any fires lately. Captured in Lewisburg, PA.
The Goodwill Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that travels under the Captain Cook Bridge. That is the subject of this image to a certain degree, but it was also an experiment in manual exposure. This is a tone mapped high dynamic range panorama consisting of one row of 14 images. Each image consists of five exposures of 2, 5, 10, 45 and 70 seconds.
Acrylic on Canvas. We lived in San Antonio where the Mexican influence is noticeble. I love all things Spanish.>

I hope that you like this one….I’m quite pleased with it :-)
This photo was taken on the photo walk which happened in August. This photo was taken on the goodwill bridge with my 17-50 tamaron lens on a Canon 430. I like this photo because it gives a different perspective on the bridge

In response to blamo’s (Tone) lighting a single red candle at midnight for Peace, this is my contribution… In 1863, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote these words: I heard the bells on Christmas Day / Their old familiar carols play / And mild and sweet the words repeat, / Of peace on earth, good will to men. I thought how as the day had come, / The bellfries of all Christendom / Had roll’d along th’ unbroken song / Of peace on earth, good will to men. And in despair I bow’d my head: / “There is no peace on earth”, I said, / “For hate is strong, and mocks the song / Of peace on earth, good will to men.” Then pealed the bells more loud and deep: / “God is not dead, nor doth he sleep; / The wrong shall fail, the right prevail, / With peace on earth, good will to men.” ‘Til ringing, singing on its way, / The world revolved from night to day, / A voice, a chime, a chant sublime, / Of peace on earth, good will to men! Peace on Earth is a 1939 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon short subject directed by Hugh Harman, about a post-apocalyptic world populated by animals. / / nurture / The act of nourishing or nursing; tender care; education; training; That which nourishes; food; diet; The environmental influences that contribute to the development of an individual; see also nature; to nourish or nurse / en.wiktionary.org/wiki/nurture Media – pencil and photoshop / Substrate – paper I can’t explain this, ‘cept to say, it’s inspired by our connection with nature and the fragility of life itself sometimes, the message coming through is to nurture life by way of fostering goodwill toward one another and accepting we have a duty of care to our natural world also. Because Easter is approaching I thought it appropriate :) The child’s sustenance, or umbilical cord if you like is coming from a tree, symbolic of the healing that nature can bring….the new life and growth that comes with nurture both of spirit and of nature. Humility is understanding our rightful place in the scheme of all things, including nature, family structure and the wider community…... a world where there is tolerance for all, is the one i pray for
