...if only they grew on trees… Winner in Challenge 20 at the Challenge Cafe :) I was so flattered this week to have Stacey Yount send me a Bubblemail telling me that this artwork had inspired her to write a poem for a husband. She even bought my artwork as a card and is going to write the poem inside and give it to her husband!!! LOVE IT! I think it matches the image perfectly and she has kindly given me permission to display it here. It is so exciting to collaborate with someone so talented (and she is a lovely person too). Read her beautiful words here: I once happened upon a heart tree / And had to pick the perfect / bloom for me I knew as soon as I saw that heart, / oh yes it is he / It called out I am yours, if you will choose it to be So, I danced my way to it / and reached up to pluck / it from the tree / No doubt, no worry / I knew that heart was meant for me I was right because that heart / was yours, you see / And now I am blessed with your love and oh how I love thee Stacey :) Stock Photo Credit: / Girl / Tree & Landscape
Judith suggested Rainy street could be in B&W. She has great B&W work and has been an inspiration to me. So I tried with PS to convert the photo into B&W. But I’m new to PS and don’t know if I did it right. Please let me know what you think about the tones, contrast, textures… will a more grainy feel help? Thank you.
As I originally only had a small piece of sky when I was fiddling with the extract tool, I have now redone this picture, using a bigger and new piece of sky! An old Italian man said this to me when he thought I was working too hard.
I actually created this for a CD Cover but I liked it so much I thought I would upload as a print as well :) You’ll notice this is a bit different for me, mainly because it includes a male angel, rather than my usual female model… Full view please :) ...::Stock Photo Credit::.. / Angel / Background / Crow / Dove / Texture If you like this piece, please check out: / / /
Early Evening In The Garden Of Good And Evil was shot at Elkington Park in Balmain, Sydney, in the company of millions of mosquitos and batches of bats. Since being Featured Art by Redbubble and in the Night Photography Group, this work has become one of my most popular images on RB. It is also one of the works I am most proud of, especially as I had no set shooting agenda before I arrived at the location of this magnificent tree, a favourite spot. Also featured by the Technical Photography Group 17 October 2009 Tripod-mounted Canon EOS 5D Mark II, with remote shutter cable / Canon TS+E 24mm f3.5L Tilt+Shift Lens with Schneider B+W 72mm UV Haze Filter #10 / ISO: 640 / Aperture: f3.5 / Speed: 20 seconds / Style: Monochrome / Focus: Manual / AWB: Auto / Lighting: Available / Three separate shots, each with shifting the lens, not the camera, at +11mm shift, 0mm shift, and -11mm shift, respectively, then stitched together.

According to tradition, Sestri Levante was founded by the Ligurian tribe of the “Tigullii” and it was already known in the Roman Age under the name “Segesta Tigulliorum”. The ancient core of the town developed in the Middle Ages in a fortified position on the “island”. After the 15th century, the town expanded onto the alluvial plain south of the Gromolo river. Sestri Levante then became part of the Fieschi family’s domain, until it passed under the flags of the Republic of Genoa, which built the castle on the “island” and kept control of the town until the Napoleonic conquest.

Right, so after the paramount success of this post asking your opinions, I’m testing this new idea right here and now and here, now. Every Friday you can come here and shout about all the awesome new people you find. You get the whole day to stake your claims, which, due to interesting timezones, is about 50 something hours long. Pick your favourite new image, tee, or written work, (just one I say, one, otherwise I’ll get all flustered and overcome) and tell me who it’s by and why you think it’s marvellous. Then I’ll peruse all your suggestions and pick one tee, one image and one written work from three different undiscovered talents, to talk about over the course of the following week. The finder and the findee will both then get a free shipping voucher and of course, incredible publicity. Plus, the warm satisfaction that accompanies winning things. And maybe even some Limited Edition Certificates. Let’s see how this goes then.
