Mr.Roland died two days after I took that picture,he was a realy good friend and I use to tease him a lot.He was blind but always recognised me because he knew my voice«Ah!....« Gigi de St-Hippolyte»he used to say , holding my hand.He never asked for much only to organised his meal in a way he could easily eat by himself and to give him his chaplet for the ceremony on sundays.A great person , very generous and smiling all the time.The worst part for him was not being able to go to the bathroom ,I think that idea killed him ,he was so proud.He died very peacefully with her daughter and son ,hand in hand .The hand you see in the picture is his son’s .Let’s say that if I wasn’t passionnate about my job I couldn’t do it . / /

Well, it’s not a final goodbye. When I shot this, a strong northern front was rolling over my head (the one you see in the photo) and discharging tiny specks of snow. But at least the ice is breaking and spring is in reach. Happy Easter (if you celebrate that kind of thing).

This work was featured in the “In The Moment” publication! Thanks Redbubble! Pastel on Kitty Wallis sanded paper from “The White Album” series, inspired by the Beatles tune of the same name. The series is also inspired by the hallmarks of adolescence, such as chatting with friends. The advent of cell phones hasn’t changed the way teens communicate all that much.

This was taken at my brothers funeral in october. My brother passed away on the 18th of July. He in times past showed interest in body donation. His body was donated to science, 4 weeks later we got him back in a box. It took me almost 2 months to open the box that he was sent in. I am not sure why….. Fear of the unknown I guess. It may have been that once was my brother was now a box that was no bigger then 12 by 12 and that was what we are… ash, dust in the wind to say the least. My Grandma stopped in front of the small box that now was my brother to say goodbye. Something that no one is prepared to do. / For every Christian Death is victory not defeat….. / canon30Dslr

Blue has been gone for a while now and i still look out my window and expect to see him looking at me over the fence.. This was our neighbours horse, Blue.. / I spoke to him daily over our fence for the last five years. / I opened my curtains and saw him in the morning through the window, but then when i went to feed my ponies later in the day, I found Blue dead in his paddock. So i just want to say goodbye.

Model-Adrian Convinced my son to don leather jacket and used binoculars as prop. Photographed by me. Shadow highlight and colour adjustments in Photoshop. Scanned endpapers from an out-of-print book to use as texture. Layered with the texture i created using multiple modes eg. color burn and multiply and adjusted opacity. Omni lighting in PS using yellow tone. Flattened and created a texture map from the image in Photoshop by duplicating the flattened layer to a new doc then desaturating and saving as a .psd. Applied the .psd via the texture filter in PS at about 100% 11. USM at 100,30 0. Just having fun! /
