  • Erwin Raphael McManus. Soul Cravings. You can choose to believe that your spirit has lived a thousand years before and that in a previous life you were a bug – or even worse than that, it’s the life to come. Or you can choose to believe that you are the result of some kind of genetic mutation that arbitrarily happened through the evolutionary process. But remember this, what can settle your mind will not settle your soul. It will stir it up. You are a unique creation made by God to live and not simply exist. Your soul longs to find its ultimate purpose. It will not rest until you do. Your soul craves its destiny. Your soul desires. It always will. You were created as a creative being. You were made to grow, to dream, to achieve. Your soul is letting you know you come from God and your life is intended to be God-sized and God-inspired. If Jesus is God, then God is a God of passion. He is not a force or energy – indifferent to the human condition. He has created us like him – with passion and desire and emotion. God is like a fire that burns within your soul.

  • BETTER VIEWED LARGER There are some 50 old cranes remaining on the island , the biggest was TITAN / which measured 20 stories high and was a floating cran. When the island as closed Titan as old to Singapoe but di not survive thrip. Cockatoo Island is listed under the National Trust and has been returned tto the people not the developers ! It is now a very interesting tourist destination on Sydney Harbour, there is even camping on the island. The history of Cockatoo Island is emblematic of Australia’s history. Before the arrival of Europeans, it was undoubtedly used by the first Australians, the Aboriginal tribes of Sydney’s coastal region. In 1839 it was chosen as the site of a new penal establishment by the Governor of the colony of New South Wales, Sir George Gipps. Convicts were put to work building prison barracks, a military guardhouse and official residences. Not long after, the maritime history of Cockatoo Island began with the construction of the Fitzroy Dock by convicts. For the next 50 years the island was both a place of incarceration and the site of the colony’s ship repair and shipbuilding activities. During the twentieth century maritime activity grew, notably during World War I and World War II. For a time, Cockatoo Island was the largest shipbuilding yard in Australia. When the shipyard closed in 1992, Cockatoo Island lay dormant for a decade until the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust was established and given the responsibility of revitalising this significant site. The Trust is rehabilitating the island and creating one of the most unusual places to visit in the city. Cockatoo Island has been returned to the people, for visitors to Sydney it is well worth a trip and can be reached from Sydney’s ferry terminal at Cicular Quay $5.20 each way on the ferry for adults , entrace to the island is FREE See More From the Cockatoo Island Series / Cockatoo Island Series

  • Most of you have heard this song. You know, Where Have All the Cowboys Gone is the name of a song by Paula Cole. / Basically, it´s about a woman who for all her life dreamed of being a cowboy’s wife. One day she does indeed marry one of these “cowboys”. But over the years she discovers her dream man doesn’t live up to her expectations, and finds herself an unhappy housewife, asking to the heavens where all the cowboys went. / Here I tried to put the song into another context, another culture; perhaps, closer to the universe that surrounds me everyday. Cause I think the essence of this song perfectly fits everywhere, all the time. And here are the lyrics: Where Have All The Cowboys Gone Oh you get me ready in your 56 chevy / Why dont we go sit down in the shade / Take shelter on my front porch / The dandy lion sun scorching, / Like a glass of cold lemonade / I will do laundry if you pay all the bills Chorus: Where is my john wayne / Where is my prairie son / Where is my happy ending / Where have all the cowboys gone Why dont you stay the evening / Kick back and watch the tv / And Ill fix a little something to eat / Oh I know your back hurts from working on the tractor / How do you take your coffee my sweet / I will raise the children if you pay all the bills Chorus I am wearing my new dress tonight / But you dont even notice me / Say our goodbyes (3 times) We finally sold the chevy / When we had another baby / And you took that job in tennessee / You made friends at the farm / And you joined them at the bar / Almost every single day of the week I will wash the dishes while you go have a beer / Where is my john wayne / Where is my prairie son / Where is my happy ending / Where have all the cowboys gone / Where is my marlboro man / Where is his shiny gun / Where is my lonely ranger / Where have all the cowboys gone / Yippee aw, yippee yea (3 times)

  • Last shot of the day in downtown Chicago. As I was returning home, waiting in the subway for my train, there was a man with the most soulful voice singing for tips. Ain’t No Sunshine When She’s Gone originally by Bill Withers is how I wish I could title this image because that was the last song I heard him sing as my train pulled away. I also thought it was interesting that behind the woman sits a child’s shoe even though no one else was around.

Hi, RedBubble’s a big community and there is some natural turnover in the community. From all that I’ve read this is to be expected – people move on, interests change, family commitments take priority, et cetera. When I reflect on my own personal journey this is certainly true – I used to play a lot of team sport, now I’m just too busy. But I’ve still been curious to better understand what happens to RedBubble members who have drifted away. Is it something we’re doing? Is there a fundamental problem with RB that we’re missing? So this week I sent out the following e-mail to 4,767 members who had been inactive for between two and six months (total membership is now over 160,000). 1,640 people opened the e-mail and 732 people e-mailed us back. This response rate was much much more than I expected – and will mean that we won’t be able to reply to each e-mail (which I was hoping to do). The results (below) were both reassuring and present some food for thought. By far an away the most common response was that people have drifted away because life got busy. Many, many respondents apologized for being away and said lots of supportive things about RedBubble – reassuring me that there was nothing fundamentally wrong. However, there was a significant minority of folks who were disappointed by their sales – and I think in this area we’ve done a poor job of managing expectations. Our view is that we work in partnership with artists (members) – and that the artists should always be responsible for marketing their work. You will be the best promoters of your work. But some people have joined RedBubble and formed the expectation that the sales would roll in with no effort … so this is something we’ll have to address (see the selling member and the promote and sales group as two examples of how we’re trying to educate and equip folks to promote their own work). - Peter
