The Louvre at Night, I spent nearly two hours there taking photos and could of come back again and again, its just a magical place for photography.
Like a fairytale castle Mont Saint Michel at dusk in the rain, I got wet and cold but it was worth it for images like this. A blended exposure using HDR techniques. This darling red bike was found in one of the few remaining galleries in Paris. It was just a charming shot that I had to take.
Two Brighton Deck chairs sit with great vantage spot of a incoming storm front. I love the moody feel to this shot. I must thank Matthew Bonnington for his help in bringing the most out of this shot, his help with some new processing techniques really add impact to this shot.
Eilean Donan Castle one of the Iconic Scottish Castles was just a magic place to visit and photograph. I spent close to 9 hours taking in the surrounds, the atmosphere and the serenity and of course the odd photo or two. Here is one of my favourites, I really like the balance of light and the reflections. This was the 3rd last photo I took during this 9 hour period, and goes to show that patience can pay off. One of my favourite portraits of my Dad, doing what he loves more then anything else in the world fishing. If he could he’d spend every day fishing, as it is he sometimes wets a line three or four times a day. On this occasion I decided to get up early and document him enjoying his sport. This is the result, it has special sentimental value to me, but I felt like sharing it as something different to what I’ve been posting recently.
Mangrove shoots are reflected in the calm water in a local wetlands reserve (marsh for our overseas friends). This was taken on a nature walk just a km from my house.
This shot has a bit of a story behind it, I was with a group of fellow photographers on what we call a Ferry Hop expedition. Basically we spend the day or most of it, riding the Sydney Ferries to different destinations taking photos on board and where ever we disembark. On this particular outing a few of my fellow photographers and I decided to issue a challenge, walk up to perfect strangers and ask for to take their photo. This was only the second person I ask after the challenge was issued. This lovely gentleman had a great face, a lovely white and gray beard and looked just the part for a nautical theme. As it happens when I approached him, we were nearing a replica tall ship and the Darling Harbour light house (scene in the background). Well all the elements just fell into place, and I only took two shots but I knew I had bag a great image, I thanked the Sea Captain as I’ve now called him, showed him the image and let him travel the rest of the trip in peace. I’m considering entering this in the portrait section of the Real Photography compeition, while it may be a little unconventional, it’s one of my favourite portraits (and most the others my wife won’t let me post as they are pictures of her).
Taken while on a guided photography tour of London, these great street is just near Tower Bridge. I believe these area used to be the old docks for loading and unloading the boats, but is now more residential and I’d say pretty pricey.
Paris has to be my favourite city for people watching, there are so many styles, fashions and personalities found on the many streets of Paris, it was a joy to wander around and take it all in. I found this gentleman enjoying a baguette on the sidewalk (pavement or footpath depending on where you are from). Something about him really captured my interested so I fired of a few shots. When I got back, something was missing from the original scene and I wasn’t sure exactly what so I’ve played around extensively with layers to build up the affect you see, some doding and burning, motion blur and playing with the curves and levels. Overall I’m very happy with the end result which I think adds something the original was missing.
This shot was taken on a quiet afternoon on the streets of Edinburgh, Scotland.
This Parisian waiter takes a few long drags of his cigarette in between serving customers, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of taking his photograph has he enjoyed his stolen moment, it had a very Parisian feel to it.
Taken from the roof top garden of Galleries La Fayette (we think) looking down the tree bordered Rue Tronchet toward Madeline Church, and behind that the golden dome of Napoleon’s tomb with the ever present Eiffel Tower in the background far right. Buyers Please Note : This image is processed to imitate a painting, as in by this close up excerpt from the original. The artist suggests the following artworks as companion pieces. This shot was taken on the streets of Paris (yes a lot of my images are from my trip, I just saw too many beautiful things not to share). In this shot the Cherub seems to be alone or lost, and the falling drops from the fountain above I thought were like Angel Tears, tears for the little one they couldn’t find.

This is a special upload for my wife, who really likes this image and wants it included in her 08 Calendar, so this will probably be a temporary upload.

This image was taken on Christmas Day 2007 for family members that were moving away from the area, they thought it would be nice for me to record the view so they had a reminder of their own home.
I met Mohamed inside the Temple of Kom Ombo right on the banks of the Nile, and his eyes were just captivating. He was one of the many locals that offered their services as a guide inside the temples in the return for baksheesh, photos cost extra but after chatting with him I felt he needed the money more then I did and I had to record his extraordinary eyes. Throughout my visit I didn’t see another blue eyed Egyptian so I felt lucky to have met Mohamed by chance, and shared some time with him. The Temple of Kom Ombo is actually two temples consisting of a Temple to Sobek and a Temple of Haroeris, so everything in mirrored for each of the Gods.
Designed with myself in mind, this is a touch in cheek shot at my awful dance moves and my relative size on the dance floor. Please note this has been given a distressed look, so don’t expect solid vector graphics here. / Please check out my Art Profile Here
This is one of my grandmother’s roses, she’s got so many beautiful flowers in the garden. I thought it would be nice to give her a card of one of her blooms.
A wedge tomb found in The Burren, County Clare, Ireland. The rocky landscape is like nothing I had ever seen and is littered with these ancient tombs. This one supposedly held upto 38 bodies.
