  • beautiful sunset and waves on the beach

  • A rushing creek and a few fallen leaves taking a brief respite from thier rapid trip downriver via breeze and rushing water. The rocks offer a brief sacntuary before they are swept away into the coming winter.

  • extreme sunset reflections

  • Last Sunday I wend down to Sculpture By The Sea at Bondi Beach. The sky was amazing. It rained all the way down in the car (at 5am) then stopped as I parked. The clouds threatened rain for the 90 min I was taking photos, but then just as I was getting ready to go, a window opened up in the clouds and beautiful golden light streamed over the sculptures. The dark threatening clouds made the perfect backdrop. This image is a 3 shot HDR image. I printed this image up and it looks great in my hall… It has become one of my favorites.

  • This shot was taken in a gorgeous place called Spoon Bay. A wonderful feeling of remoteness to it even though it’s only a 10 min hike down a track. The rocks are gorgeous (that is if you are like me and love rocks and textures). The rock is a green sandstone (haven’t seen this colour anywhere else) and the sand is a deep golden colour. I took this photo because Ioved the contrasts in colours, textures and the movement of the sea in the middle of it all. For anybody that likes Photoshop, if you are interested in how I processed this image, I did a step-by-step tutorial in my blog. You can find my blog here Enjoy / Brent

  • Quite excited about the potential of this one…I’ve only just processed this shot, but during this evening a few days ago, I took a heap of pano’s from this area when the light just got better and better…I’ve also got a shot from this spot taken during a blue sky day…back in my pf somewhere, but it doesn’t compare to this one..imo..anyway, I’ll be busy stitching for quite some time now…..cheers, Rob.

  • A couple of rocks offering a resting place to a pair of leaves. The intriguing thing about this shot as you walked downstream the golden reflection of the trees above disapears. I was shocked to see this vivid color as I walked to a point cross stream. Needless to say I just about tumbled into the water because I was so excited to enjoy this view.

  • This elderly woman sits at the window and contemplates the world outside. She does not see far beyond the window frame because her world has diminished considerably. Two years ago she was officially diagnosed with dementia after a life threatening surgery and long hospital stay. However, her family and friends noticed a difference in her personality over the last several years. Once a proud and hard working single mom, she raised two children during the 60’s and 70’s at a time when single parenthood was not as widely accepted as it is today. At present, she is reduced to little more than the passive demeanor of a quiet child. She is aware of the reduction in both her mental and physical abilities. She also understands that she is helpless to change anything. / It takes great courage to face the inevitable. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia; it accounts for 64 per cent of all dementias. For example right now in the US, Alzeihmer’s has surpassed diabetes and is the sixth leading cause of death. As baby boomers are rapidly approaching the age of retirement it is believed that 10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer’s in their lifetime. Currently, there are more than 24 million people in the world with dementia—this is estimated to rise to 81 million by the year 2040.6 / Statistics taken from both the Canadian and American Alzeihmer’s Society. / Published by Redbubble in Compassion, Courage and Friendship book October 2008 / Compassion, Courage & Friendship Top Ten in the Mood & Ambience, The Seated Human challenge, July 2009 / Featured in the Nirvana group October 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting group November 2008 / Featured in the RB Buyer’s Booth November 2008 / Featured in the Stillness Speaks group November 2008 / Featured on RB homepage on November 25/08 / The Fine Art of Photography

  • Well, I spotted this out on my Saturday hike from above and scouted for a way down into the capture the scene. What I found was a impenetrable blend of steep banks and thick brush covered in Poison Ivy and Devils Club. Common sense told me to let it go but in the end I slid down using my tripod as a walking stick and managed to get to waters edge with both feet and behind a bit wet. I hope it was worth it for it seemed so at the time to me. Golden leaves on a moss covered boulder in a small stream contrast nicely against rushing water

  • My wife had cordially begun the hike back, allowing me to linger at The Wave. Looking over the shoulder of Wave, the darkening distance convinced me, that I too must leave this location – and the moment. March 3, 2009 ISO200 1/125 F11 Nikon D-80, / AF-S Nikkor 18-135mm, @18mm

  • Title from a certain Chris Isaak song… I haven’t been taking a lot of photos whilst enjoying my stay in San Francisco but this little visit to a certain bridge we all know, made the fact that I hadn’t been out not matter to me at all, I absolutely loved this spot and I can’t wait to come back to this great city and explore it a little bit more… Without a doubt this is already one of my favourite photos out of the many thousands I have taken over the past 18 months or so, thanks for looking :D / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm IS.
