I am lucky enough to live right next to a forest so I took the kids bush walking and got this photo of the sunset through the long grass.. I just really liked the golden tones and I had a different grass image but have taken it down and replaced it with this one.

This my usual dog-walking park and more recently my coyote-photography park. it’s a pretty unassuming little place, but when the light is just right it can be spectacular. Taken at sunset at Laval-Ouest beach on 22/04/08(spring in Canada). Used my Canon A75. I am pleased with the color and calmness of the lake. The name came to me instantly. Although it cannot be seen by the viewer this area was flooded out and I had to take the shot from across the road as the water had spilled over. MARION CHAMPMAN is a wonderful artist and a lover of patterns and design.. Printmaking and experimenting with all kinds of materials and colors.. she really turns my head.. Marion… truth be told.. Kauai is not a very pastel-y place.. so I took my photo and gave it a Marion Wash.. I love this shot..I do not know what this is but I spent some time with this guy..It was a very tall tree and that is how the leaves grow on it.. no branches!! Marion’s Chapman’s Pastels inspired Maddy of Smudge ARt Fame to write a most lovely lovely piece.. My gratitude for the Love here is ever growing.. Thank YOu Maddy! What beauty is this I behold ? / “A feast to ones eye”, I am told. / Leaves wrapped in soft hues. / Colors of gold, red and spiritual blues. “A tree without branches ”, she did say. / Just leaves that enfold it in every way. / Lina sad, this tree amazed me so, / I could not look at it and just let it go. The defensive Tower house of Smailholm, just over the Scottish border, near Kelso. The tower was built in the mid 1400’s at a time when lawlessness and violent bands of reivers, ravaged the lands both sides of the English-Scottish border. And a solitary white swan, resides below the Tower Even today, the landscape is lonely, and you can easily imagine the starkness of those dark days. Dreary dull, grey, original digital photograph. / Lots of photoshop layers and borrowed sunset from my bonny Northumberland, Budle Bay photo. Inversion and refining with digital painting….. it would have been easier to conventionally paint this!!

18×24 acrylic on canvas I painted this one for The Divine Feminine’s challenge “Loving Ladies”. This is my favorite goddess of Love, Lakshmi. This is not your traditional painting of Lakshmi, for instance, I didn’t give her 4 arms. But I think it captures her beauty and femininity. Lakshmi is also the goddess of beauty and wealth. She is kind of like the goddess of the law of attraction. In truth, Lakshmi teaches us to accept our beauty and to find true happiness in the realization of the abundance of our soul.
