O LORD my God, I called to you for help / and you healed me. Psalm 30:2 (Digital Mixed Media)

Every now and then I like to “step outside” my boundary of usual subject matter and do something really different. This is one of those images. Captured outside the town of Central City, Colorado, I happened by this scene by luck, along with the other 2 cemeteries close by it. Long closed, these are the real deal “wild west’ cemeteries, long forgotten, long not seen. Looking like a scene out of the movie “Pale Rider”.....I had to photograph it. The ruts in the ground were still visible from where the old wagons used to carry the bodies up from the town. Quite an amazing place…. / Thoughts welcomed! —-John —-—-—-—-—-—-— / More of my work can be seen on my website at http://jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. There are many rooms in my Father’s house; I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. / John 14:2 Thanks to Obsidian Dawn for the light beam photoshop brush.

Lorraine Creagh nominated this image for the Pay it Forward group. / Here’s what she said about this image: I love the feeling that I get with the image. Loneliness, peace and age. I wonder how many people have sat on those benches in contemplation. The colouring and aged treatment that Kimberly has given it works so well for this shot Thank you Lorraine, you are a sweet friend! Gallery 1 / Gallery 2 / Gallery 3 / Gallery 4 / Gallery 5 / Gallery 6 / Watch my tears Hi Friends i have been away for days now , i was working on some new art works , here is one that i love alot , hope you enjoy it like i Do. / this work means alot to me.missed you all. please see it in large view for details. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / Linaji wrote this great poem for this Art work , Thank you very much Lina you did it again . / please visit Linaji for more of her work. With love, I Forgive / Your love / And your lies / Balled up like wax / Dripping down the side of my fingers / Burning / Pain, / Heat / Tears / Dissolving a fragile string of kindness which has / Muddled and hardened with time Story after story goes thru my mind, / Till I am spent and drained at my own efficient ability / To fill in scenes I only think you might have played / A part in. / Uncovering again and again the deceit and the pain / That one morning you did bring. Long before I swore.. / Never again. / But the rabid dogs of Goodbye / I did unleash / Ready for your remains / To become festered with my own / Pain / My own despair. My eyes steel cold and grey / Pools of ice and determined / Chill. / That morning / When you lead me down the / Corridor of your will. Words diminished to / Graffiti sighs / And lovers’ cries. And now I am faced with / Time that has passed and the / Decorum of modern man / Spiritual leanings / And friends that remind me / I have a place in their hearts too. / Was Love all about you? The ending is near for all this / That was. / For all this that was. And now, / I paint and I create and I feel and I close / My eyes / A figure of light appears, / Dressed in royal colors / Dressed in abstract designs from a place beyond this one. / He takes my heart from my chest / And squeezes it hard / And like the wax of your love and your lies / It drips down the side of his fingers. / His lips are full and his smile is large. / He licks my blood and gives me the same. I only taste what I feel is Eternity and Peace. / And then, / He puts it back tenderly and instantly, / He is gone. / I am left with a thought that I repeat and use as my / Mantra, / My beacon back to Hope and Life. ‘With Love, I forgive’.

...a drop of water on the leaf of a weed in a garden of roses. He’s the Master Of Details, isn’t He? :-) Of the more than 110,000 photographs I’ve taken in the last two years, this is the one that garners the most positive comments and the most admiration. I’ve always loved it but hadn’t know the depth of other’s enjoyment in it until I started showing it in prints and online. Here, it’s the shot I’ve taken with the most comments and the most ‘favouritings’. The very glory of what He does on such an incredibly small scale shows in this simple macro snapshot of a weed. If I had to choose a single photograph I’d call a “masterpiece”, this one or “magnolia” would tie for that title. All profit from the sale of this image is pledged to be donated to the church or pastor of the buyer’s choice. If no choice is specified, I will chose one and note it in my Red Bubble journal. (Please see comments to understand what happened, the complete details of what is planned to happen, and why it will happen, if you’d like to know.)

Landscape of the Lord St. Malo outside of Estes Park, Colorado. One of thee most photographed Churches in all of North America, I was VERY excited and VERY anxious to get this shot when I headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park. I was hoping that the weather would clear because behind this, covered in the clouds, is Mt. Meeker and it is just a stunning view with the mountains! I have to admit though, I am really happy how this came out. And if anything, it is quite unique compared to how it is usually shot. I suppose that is a good thing when it comes to photographing something that is such an icon. Generally, people walk down by the pond and shoot from there, I stayed up top on the side of the road, thus giving a different perspective than most. Also, the weather. It was dramatic as all heck! You could smell the rain as it came in, dark, but with so much drama in the sky. I was pretty lucky to get a shot like this. Ya, I am happy with it! Hebrews 2:1 We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. and Hebrews 3:12 & 13 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. /

In Christ alone will I glory / Though I could pride myself / In battles won / For I’ve been blessed beyond measure / And by His strength alone, I overcome / Oh, I could stop and count successes / Like diamonds in my hands / But these trophies could not equal / To the grace, by which I stand In Christ alone / I place my trust / And find my glory / In the power of the cross / In every victory / Let it be said of me / My source of strength / My source of hope / Is Christ alone In Christ alone will I glory / For only by His grace / I am redeemed / And only His tender mercy / Could reach beyond my weakness / To my need / Now I seek no greater honor / Than just to know Him more / And to count my gains but losses / And to the glory of my Lord In Christ alone / I place my trust / And find my glory / In the power of the cross / In every victory / Let it be said of me / My source of strength / My source of hope / Is Christ alone Recorded By: Michael English ©2008 BMoore Photography & Design…...................................................... / www.bamagirl38.com ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

The image I would like to nominate…one of her gorgeous sunsets” Voice Of Truth / Recorded by : Casting Crowns Oh what I would do to have / The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I’m in / Onto the crashing waves To step out of my comfort zone / To the realm of the unknown where Jesus is / And He’s holding out his hand But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me / Reminding me of all the times I’ve tried before and failed / The waves they keep on telling me / Time and time again. ‘Boy, you’ll never win!’ / “You’ll never win” But the voice of truth tells me a different story / And the voice of truth says “Do not be afraid!” / And the voice of truth says “This is for My glory” / Out of all the voices calling out to me / I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth Oh what I would do to have / The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant / With just a Sling and a stone / Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors / Shaking in their armor / Wishing they’d have had the strength to stand But the giant’s calling out my name and he laughs at me / Reminding me of all the times I’ve tried before and failed / The giant keeps on telling me / Time and time again “boy, you’ll never win! / “You’ll never win” But the stone was just the right size / To put the giant on the ground / And the waves they don’t seem so high / From on top of them looking down / I will soar with the wings of eagles / When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus / Singing over me I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

The first in the Four Winds of Heaven Series. The North wind brings rain (Proverbs 25:23). Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. / Ezekiel 1:4 Digital Mixed Media compiled in Photoshop CS2. I was sure by now / That You would have reached down / And wiped our tears away / Stepped in and saved the day / But once again, I say “Amen”, and it’s still raining As the thunder rolls / I barely hear Your whisper through the rain / “I’m with you” / And as You mercy falls / I raise my hands and praise the God who gives / And takes away I’ll praise You in this storm / And I will lift my hands / For You are who You are / No matter where I am / Every tear I’ve cried / You hold in Your hand / You never left my side / And though my heart is torn / I will praise You in this storm I remember when / I stumbled in the wind / You heard my cry / You raised me up again / My strength is almost gone / How can I carry on / If I can’t find You As the thunder rolls / I barely hear You whisper through the rain / “I’m with you” / And as Your mercy falls / I raise my hands and praise the God who gives / And takes away I lift my eyes unto the hills / Where does my help come from? / My help comes from the Lord / The Maker of Heaven and Earth / Recorded by: Casting Crowns

The Gyoto Monks of Tibet are an often seen sight at many cultural events in the Byron Bay region. Seen here laughing, this particular monk escaped Tibet into India 50 years ago with His Holiness, The Dali Lama. His trademark expression and enjoying tea and biscuit, the joke is enjoyed by all at the table.

I was working with a combination of an image I got several years ago from a newspaper story about the shroud of Turin. The original image was very poor and I had to recreate the face using the newspaper image as a model. Then I worked with I worked with Micrografx, Photoshop and Apophysis to create the finished work. I experimented a little and got several works that I really like. I hope you enjoy them. Although we do not know what Christ really looked like because the Hebrew people did not draw or paint images of anyone because it was against their religion, we do have ideas we have formed based upon legend and theories that have been passed down through time and have become a generally accepted image that comes to mind when we think of Christ. I will be posting several that are part of this series and they are all enspired by scripture from the Holy Bible. This is the second of nine in the series. What I was amazed by is the same face looks so different when using a different overlay. It is so much like the many faces of God that we have come to know. Ge 1:20 / ¶ And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving / creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the / open firmament of heaven.
