Landscape of the Lord St. Malo outside of Estes Park, Colorado. One of thee most photographed Churches in all of North America, I was VERY excited and VERY anxious to get this shot when I headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park. I was hoping that the weather would clear because behind this, covered in the clouds, is Mt. Meeker and it is just a stunning view with the mountains! I have to admit though, I am really happy how this came out. And if anything, it is quite unique compared to how it is usually shot. I suppose that is a good thing when it comes to photographing something that is such an icon. Generally, people walk down by the pond and shoot from there, I stayed up top on the side of the road, thus giving a different perspective than most. Also, the weather. It was dramatic as all heck! You could smell the rain as it came in, dark, but with so much drama in the sky. I was pretty lucky to get a shot like this. Ya, I am happy with it! Acrylic on canvas. Size is approximately 4ft X 4ft. Inspired by Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. /
Every now and then I like to “step outside” my boundary of usual subject matter and do something really different. This is one of those images. Captured outside the town of Central City, Colorado, I happened by this scene by luck, along with the other 2 cemeteries close by it. Long closed, these are the real deal “wild west’ cemeteries, long forgotten, long not seen. Looking like a scene out of the movie “Pale Rider”.....I had to photograph it. The ruts in the ground were still visible from where the old wagons used to carry the bodies up from the town. Quite an amazing place…. / Thoughts welcomed! —-John —-—-—-—-—-—-— / More of my work can be seen on my website at http://jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. A richly symbolic image depicting the Celtic ‘Horned God’ Cerne or Cernunnoss in passionate embrace with his consort, The Goddess. Cerne is traditionally Lord of the Animals and The Goddess is generally associated with the ‘Sacred Forest’ of all life on Earth. The forest, however, needs animals to spread the seeds and pollenate the flowers., and the animals need the forest to provide food and shelter. As such, neither can survive without the other. The union of Cerne and The Goddess ensures the continuity of all life on Earth. All of my artworks are executed in handmade papers and organic materials from the rainforests of Northern NSW, Australia. As such, they not only represent our union with the earth symbolically, but also physically as objects in their own right.
...a drop of water on the leaf of a weed in a garden of roses. He’s the Master Of Details, isn’t He? :-) Of the more than 160,000 photographs I’ve taken in the last two and a half years, this is the one that garners the most positive comments and the most admiration. I’ve always loved it but hadn’t know the depth of others’ enjoyment in it until I started showing it in prints and online. Here, it’s the shot I’ve taken with the most comments and the most ‘favouritings’. The very glory of what He does on such an incredibly small scale shows in this simple macro snapshot of a weed. If I had to choose a single photograph I’d call a “masterpiece”, this one or “magnolia” would tie for that title. All profit from the sale of this image is pledged to be donated to the church or pastor of the buyer’s choice. If no choice is specified, I will chose one and note it in my Red Bubble journal. (Please see comments to understand what happened, the complete details of what is planned to happen, and why it will happen, if you’d like to know.) O LORD my God, I called to you for help / and you healed me. Psalm 30:2 (Digital Mixed Media)
Hebrews 2:1 We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. and Hebrews 3:12 & 13 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. /

There are many rooms in my Father’s house; I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. / John 14:2 Thanks to Obsidian Dawn for the light beam photoshop brush.
With Love I Should guide The gates of wake up banging , in my head / drew the calm lines on my gray paper sheet / waited for a sign of Hello , we are here shall we be / lost my love just days ago , heart broken i shall heal you so / come bad from places i did not need , but the wise take me to a level i have never been / shame i say, shame for people with blinded hearts / still the wise is the guide , and with love i shall guide too / one day when old and all that have passed you shall know my name / i shall let you go with love / and with love i shall guide you back to you.
Linaji wrote this great poem for this Art work , Thank you very much Lina you did it again . / please visit Linaji for more of her work. With love, I Forgive / Your love / And your lies / Balled up like wax / Dripping down the side of my fingers / Burning / Pain, / Heat / Tears / Dissolving a fragile string of kindness which has / Muddled and hardened with time Story after story goes thru my mind, / Till I am spent and drained at my own efficient ability / To fill in scenes I only think you might have played / A part in. / Uncovering again and again the deceit and the pain / That one morning you did bring. Long before I swore.. / Never again. / But the rabid dogs of Goodbye / I did unleash / Ready for your remains / To become festered with my own / Pain / My own despair. My eyes steel cold and grey / Pools of ice and determined / Chill. / That morning / When you lead me down the / Corridor of your will. Words diminished to / Graffiti sighs / And lovers’ cries. And now I am faced with / Time that has passed and the / Decorum of modern man / Spiritual leanings / And friends that remind me / I have a place in their hearts too. / Was Love all about you? The ending is near for all this / That was. / For all this that was. And now, / I paint and I create and I feel and I close / My eyes / A figure of light appears, / Dressed in royal colors / Dressed in abstract designs from a place beyond this one. / He takes my heart from my chest / And squeezes it hard / And like the wax of your love and your lies / It drips down the side of his fingers. / His lips are full and his smile is large. / He licks my blood and gives me the same. I only taste what I feel is Eternity and Peace. / And then, / He puts it back tenderly and instantly, / He is gone. / I am left with a thought that I repeat and use as my / Mantra, / My beacon back to Hope and Life. ‘With Love, I forgive’.

The first in the Four Winds of Heaven Series. The North wind brings rain (Proverbs 25:23). Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. / Ezekiel 1:4 Digital Mixed Media compiled in Photoshop CS2. When hard times hit, you have to pray for a breakthrough. This image is my prayer for a breakthrough and perhaps it will become your prayer, too. Thank you Ruthie for your encouragement. Though the fig tree may not blossom, / Nor fruit be on the vines; / Though the labor of the olive may fail, / And the fields yield no food; / Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, / And there be no herd in the stalls— / Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, / I will joy in the God of my salvation. / -Habakkuk 3:17-18 Digital Mixed Media

I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “ Whom shall I send, / And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” / Isaiah 6:8 To me this means about dying to self so God can send you out into the world and show the world how much Jesus loves others. This is the great send off! And Mary said: / “ My soul magnifies the Lord, / And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. / For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; / For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. / For He who is mighty has done great things for me, / And holy is His name. / And His mercy is on those who fear Him / From generation to generation. / He has shown strength with His arm; / He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. / He has put down the mighty from their thrones, / And exalted the lowly. / He has filled the hungry with good things, / And the rich He has sent away empty. / He has helped His servant Israel, / In remembrance of His mercy, / As He spoke to our fathers, / To Abraham and to his seed forever.” / ~Luke 1:46-55 Photomanipulation created in Photoshop CS2. “The LORD your God is with you, / he is mighty to save. / He will take great delight in you, / he will quiet you with his love, / he will rejoice over you with singing.” “The sorrows for the appointed feasts / I will remove from you; / they are a burden and a reproach to you. At that time I will deal / with all who oppressed you; / I will rescue the lame / and gather those who have been scattered. / I will give them praise and honor / in every land where they were put to shame. At that time I will gather you; / at that time I will bring you home. / I will give you honor and praise / among all the peoples of the earth / when I restore your fortunes / before your very eyes,” / says the LORD. / ~Zephaniah 3:17-20 Stock Credits: / Texture by http://inthename-stock.deviantart.com/ / Horse by http://absurdus.deviantart.com/ / Woman by http://mizzd-stock.deviantart.com/ / Background by http://anarasha-stock.deviantart.com/
Often I veer off the path laid before me and take my own direction…I’m human, that’s just what we do….but it is comforting to know that God is with us always, never leaving nor forsaking us…quietly speaking to our hearts and guiding us back to Him as we go through this journey. Acrylic on canvas. For anyone who is struggling today as I am…God, help us to persevere. This is my prayer today. Hebrews 10:35-39 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, “He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. Acrylic on canvas. Inspired by Ephesians 4 – Unity In The Body Of Christ Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
