  • These, were folded when I was in grade 5 (age 10) That year our teacher read “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes” to our class. One particular moment in the story, Sadako’s mother visits Sadako at the hospital and gives her a piece of paper which her sister saved for her. Sadako takes the paper and says “Mmmm, smells like candy. I hope God likes chocolate”. Everyone laughed including Sadako. Around that time I went through an origami craze and saved bits of paper and candy wrappers to do origami out of them. Mmmm… kitkat and hershy’s cookies ‘n creme… (I don’t eat this stuff as much now :P) For those who don’t know the story of the thousand paper cranes, there is a legend that says if you fold 1000 peace cranes, your wish will come true. Sadako Sasaki suffered from leukemia, and folded cranes while she was in the hospital in how of getting better. More sample origami:

  • They Neither Toil Nor Spin Once in an early morning time when the children were / sleeping and I was enjoying the tranquil beginnings of a new day, I noticed a little squirrel just outside my bedroom window. He was scratching around in search of his breakfast when all of a sudden he caught sight of a luscious find—a plump mushroom that had sprung up almost magically during the rainy hours before dawn. The squirrel nibbled all around the tender cap of the mushroom leaving behind only a naked stem. Not long after, another squirrel appeared. Evidently he wasn’t too persnickety because he chomped eagerly into the leftover stem with great relish, sending bits and pieces flying across the lawn for the next hungry creature that came by. It was an amusing little scenario, but it was also inspiring and instructive. I thought about how those two little squirrels had fallen asleep the night before when there was no mushroom in sight. Most likely they had drifted off peacefully, instinctively relying on the One who always provides. In the morning, they had gone out in search of that provision, had found it and accepted it, not only without complaint, but with exuberance and enthusiasm. Like the lilies of the field, I realized, the squirrels neither toil nor spin, not in the sense that they don’t work, for they do. But, rather in the sense that they do not expend valuable energy and time in needless worry, fretfulness, or grumbling. The next time a need arises in my life and there are / no answers in sight, I hope I’ll think of the lilies of / the field and the squirrels in my yard. I hope that / I too will neither toil nor spin.

  • This idea just came to me, more than like from God, one day when i was praying and it actually started out as a sketch and then became this. I hope that this is meaning full, because i found it to be. The image on the right is actually the hand of God, open for the broken man to come to Him. Layers: 5 / Worktime: 2 hours

  • FAITHFUL IS HE WHO HAS PROMISED [poem by Annie Johnson Flint] / Are you passing through a testing. Is your pillow wet with tears? Do you wonder what the reason, Why it seems God never hears? Why it is you have no answer To your oft, repeated plea, Why the heaven still is leaden As you wait on bended knee? Do you wonder as you suffer, Whether God does understand, And if so, why He ignores you, Fails to hold you in His Hand? / Do black doubts creep in, assail you, Fears without—and fears within, Till your brave heart almost falters And gives way to deadly sin? All God’s testings have a purpose, Someday you will see the light. All He asks is that you trust Him, Walk by faith and not by sight. / Do not fear when doubts beset you, Just remember – He is near; He will never, never leave you, He will always, always hear. Faithful is He who has promised, He will never let you fall, Daily will the strength be given Strength for each and strength for all. / He will gladly share pain with you, He will gladly give you peace. Till your tired and weary body Finds its blessed, glad release. When the darkened veil is lifted, Then, dear heart, you’ll understand Why it is you had to suffer, Why you could not feel His hand Giving strength when it was needed, Giving power and peace within. Giving joy thru tears and trial, Giving victory over sin. So till then just keep on trusting, Thru the sunshine and the rain. [Heb. 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)]

  • "This is the will of God, even your sanctification." 1 Thessalonians 4:3 This painting was inspired by the powerful devotions penned and published by Oswald Chambers in the early 1900’s. His powerful book, My Utmost for His Highest, continues to touch my life and draw me closer to Jesus. I hope that this art and verse do the same for you! • When the Lord returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes. For the Lord has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God. ~ Isaiah 52:8-10 / /

  • In some ways, we are no bigger and no stronger than little dragonflies, yet we need not fear as we have a gracious God to watch over us. I’ve experienced two hurricanes in the last two weeks and though we have suffered financial losses and extensive damage to property, faith remains firm and strong. I call that a miracle. Storms can uproot trees, blow off rooftops, and even take lives, but they can’t touch a strong inner core of faith that trusts in a Savior who will never fail us in life or in death. So with the Psalmist we can pray with confidence: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1)

  • This piece I made after coming back from the Lakeland, Florida outpouring, this past June. I made the tree look like a hand reaching heavenward. Trees are a symbol for people. The tree in my art is in need of healing and restoration. Some of the small branches are brittle and sickly, there are no leaves, the fruit is diseased and unappealing to others, and lastly there are bugs on the trunk, indicating infestation. I think there are many people that can relate to this analogy. Trees are usually thirsty for water. This tree however is in need of healing and restoration that can only come from God Almighty. He sends His healing power through the Holy Spirit (represented by the dove, with golden flames of fire). Once the tree is restored, it will be able to drink from the Living Water of Christ. This powerful piece gives me hope, that all people have the opportunity to reach out to be restored back to health.

  • To console those who mourn in Zion, / To give them beauty for ashes, / The oil of joy for mourning, / The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; / That they may be called trees of righteousness, / The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. / ~Isaiah 61:3 Stock Credits: / Texture by http://texturemattic.deviantart.com/

  • I come not to ask, to plead. or implore you…... / I just come to tell You how much I adore You. / For to kneel in your presence makes me feel blessed, / For I know that You know all my needs best, / And it fills me with joy just to linger with You, / As my soul You replenish and my heart You renew. / Written by Helen Steiner Rice / /

  • This is the final image in my series ‘The Angel of the shores’ .. Sadly play time on the shore is over for the tiny angel, and after heralding on her horn the heaven’s door awaits.. I hope this series has given inspiration and encouragement to you, I’m sure it will grace the walls beautifully in any establishment. Thank you to those who have written telling me of how much they have fallen in love with the little angel, and to those interested in knowing, yes, that little angel is my little girl :0)
