Every day hundreds, if not thousands of goblins, orcs, ogres and trolls, find themselves on the wrong end of a variety of pointy weapons and sorcerous incantations. Wearing this t-shirt, featuring a rather pathetic example of the species, will help raise awareness of the plight of these magical creatures. (line art drawn in photoshop, vectorised and coloured in Illustrator…)

Haunted House with graves, mist and ghosts. Oooooooooooooooo!

The McDonnell XF-85 Goblin was a parasite fighter – it was designed to be carried in the bomb bay of a B-36. It had no undercarriage and was hung from a hook which retracted into the nose of the Goblin. The extended range of the B-36 meant that it would be flying beyong the range of fighters that could defend it, so the idea was to carry a fighter onboard. America’s own ‘foo fighter’ first flew on 22 July 1948

List young babe – there is a noise in the trees, / Harken their rustles and creaks while you can, / Something is forming and coming to life, / Beware little child of the goblin-tree man. He eats all the young, and he eats all the old, / He turns aside blade and axe alike, / He fears not the peasant, the priest or the king, / Knowing death only with the lightening strike. Quiver and tremble, a-shake and a-shiver, / Put out the light and make yourself small, / But dream not of goblin man, whate’er you do, / For he only has power in the dreams of the fool. (essentially, an old tree stump – with a tiny bit of cloning to the right side and a slight darkening of the eyes. I just thought it looked kinda cute)

A sculpture made from a single piece of ivy that I found growing around the trunk of an old Ash tree – I carefully cut it off without too much damage, stripped the soft bark and then carved the little figures into the ivy. I used an old record player deck as a base

Surrealistic/expressionistic self portrait. ZOMBIE – (Over Self’s shoulder) Self when depressed. Hollow, lifeless, can’t speak to others about my pain as my lips are stitched together. I have no eyes and therefore can not see when people attempt to help me. GOBLIN – (Inside Self) This twisted and tortured cowering soul is the Self’s history. The inner child. Battered by the wrong doings of others. He latches onto the heart because he desperately wants to feel the love. SELF – Stands tall and strong, willing to push on and nurtures the inner child, his history. Charcoal and water colour paint on paper. / 75×100cm / 2007 Original work is still open for sale. Make an inquiry if interested in purchasing. Exhibited: / “Self Portraits” / Selected students from 2nd year Diploma and Cert IV Fine Arts / Front Room Gallery, Newcastle Art School, Newcastle West / 2007
