  • This photo of my sister and I was taken in the NSW Blue Mountains when I was 5yrs old. I’m the one on the left. I love this image as it reminds me of childhood wonderment and that even as we get old, that essence needs to be expressed. I’ve created this as a gift to my sister Trinette. x Marnie

  • A tiny house built in the woods, the perfect size for the local faeries, I wish I could shrink and live in there with them!

  • In a special place, deep in the woods, reside the faeries, I quite like their little homes! I like them so much, I shrink myself, dress in the most shimmering, translucent flower petals and trust me, they are really hard to remove from the stems when you stand no more than 8 inches tall! Finally, dressed appropriately, I tiptoe to the house of the Faerie King and Queen, nervously, I tap lightly on their door, hearing footsteps scurrying towards me, my heart beats harder and faster…will they let me in? / Location: somewhere in Minnesota

  • From the Black Jack Gnomes Collection, and NEW to Red Bubble, I am excited to introduce this design on the great shirts here at Red Bubble! / *NOTE: The lighter colors look better, and make a friendlier looking gnome silhouette. White and yellow are my personal favorites.

  • You have to be very quiet….sitting for long lengths of time. Bring with you a little ale, a little cheese, and a little fresh crusty bread…...Place the food a good distance from you, and make sure your dogs and cats are put up….Singing, if you’re good at it, is a really good idea….but if you sing off key…...don’t risk it, they can get a bit….....nasty….if you sing off key. Better by far not to risk it. If you’re patient, you might be rewarded by having a wood gnome come out of the woodpile and eventually let you take a photo….... OR EVEN…

  • Underneath the Eucalypts, / Upon the forest floor, / I came upon a tree trunk with a little wooden door… / I knocked on it and waited… / Though nobody was at home, / I knew it was the dwelling of a little forest gnome. Captured at Forth, Tasmania.

  • A painting of Noel Fielding from the British comedy show The Mighty Boosh. I’m very pleased with this painting, and I hope you will like it too!

  • I know its only a minor twist on an older piece , but what can I say ( I thought it was hysterical ) though when I spend 6 hours in my car driving and talking to myself , I find almost everything hysterical . Besides , its Saturday morning , you’re getting ready to go out and mow the lawn , and you notice brown patches all over your lush green landscape….. what do you do ? Blame the dog ? maybe you don’t have a dog …. blame the neighbor’s dog? or better yet , blame your crazy neighbor that likes to walk up and down the block in his boxers at night ( maybe he’s just crazy enough to pee on your lawn ! ) But does anyone ever look at the gnome ? Nope …. he sits there on your front lawn 24/7 and you never even give him a second thought ….. maybe he’s the one browning your lawn , maybe its a cry for attention , maybe he resents you for never bringing him a sandwich , maybe he’s annoyed that there aren’t any female gnomes in the neighborhood ….. or maybe he’s just plain Gnaughty !

  • Couldn’t pass this up! Found this on a drive through a preserve here in Jacksonville, FL!

  • This dreamy glade in Pisgah National Forest, Western North Carolina, gave me the feeling of being in two worlds at once – the “normal” world we live in and also a world filled with faeries, gnomes and is that a troll hiding in the forest?? I added the Orton effect with PhotoShop to give it an even more dream-like quality and enhanced the colors. This was taken in the early morning hours just after the sun rose. • pastels/oil paint / I had a conversation with Roy Barry forever ago, in which he stated there was no such thing as a cool gnome. / I was intending to make a gnome to prove him wrong, but so far drawing one is as far as I got. / If he looks familiar, he should ;D / There are deeper expressions within this drawing but they are not mine to reveal. / I sent the original and this is the only photograph I have. / I don’t have ps and if i try to crop the corner out she’ll lose her head :/ / apologies for the quality of the image.perhaps the recipient will be kind enough to rephotograph it for me? :-D

  • Artists Note: A gnome is an Earth Spirit characterized by its extremely small size and subterranean lifestyle. The word Gnome is derived from the New Latin gnomus. It is often claimed to descend from the Greek γνώσις gnosis, “knowledge”, but more likely comes from genomos “earth-dweller.” Gnomes are traditionally thought of as being small, bearded and wearing pointed, colorful, conical hats. They live in natural areas close to the Earth and care for wildlife. They are more benevolent than other folkloric creatures such as goblins. This traditional view is supported in such fictional works as The Secret Book of Gnomes.
