Underneath the Eucalypts, / Upon the forest floor, / I came upon a tree trunk with a little wooden door… / I knocked on it and waited… / Though nobody was at home, / I knew it was the dwelling of a little forest gnome. Captured at Forth, Tasmania.

Meet Henry O’Donnell….my long-time Gnome friend who stands watch over our home. He was joined yesterday by a new little friend and some new really cool mushrooms! They now all live happily together amongst the grasses and rocks at the base of the birdbath….

In a special place, deep in the woods, reside the faeries, I quite like their little homes!

I know its only a minor twist on an older piece , but what can I say ( I thought it was hysterical ) though when I spend 6 hours in my car driving and talking to myself , I find almost everything hysterical . Besides , its Saturday morning , you’re getting ready to go out and mow the lawn , and you notice brown patches all over your lush green landscape….. what do you do ? Blame the dog ? maybe you don’t have a dog …. blame the neighbor’s dog? or better yet , blame your crazy neighbor that likes to walk up and down the block in his boxers at night ( maybe he’s just crazy enough to pee on your lawn ! ) But does anyone ever look at the gnome ? Nope …. he sits there on your front lawn 24/7 and you never even give him a second thought ….. maybe he’s the one browning your lawn , maybe its a cry for attention , maybe he resents you for never bringing him a sandwich , maybe he’s annoyed that there aren’t any female gnomes in the neighborhood ….. or maybe he’s just plain Gnaughty !

This photo of my sister and I was taken in the NSW Blue Mountains when I was 5yrs old. I’m the one on the left. I love this image as it reminds me of childhood wonderment and that even as we get old, that essence needs to be expressed. I’ve created this as a gift to my sister Trinette. x Marnie

This little gnome is here thinking of YOU. / Whoever possesses this staring Gnome can be assured that the gnome will be staring at you, reminding you of the person who gave it to you… and why… Until finally the stare is too much, and you just have to do something about it.. like hijack a plane or divert the sewerage system towards the mayors office…or chop down the nearest tree or eat a hat or remove the neighbours guttering, or steal a goat or ….. its that kinda card…

The fog slowly saturates the battlefield… an eerie silence envelopes the garden. Then suddenly a blood curdling cry is heard from the direction of the bird bath!!! Then a twig snaps from behind the garden hose… did something just move beyond the shed? The troops are tense, there nerves; once iron strong are now failing them, they now tremble with fear as their imaginations run wild with the rumors from around the neighbourhood… could it be true? Are the wild tales of ancient and bloodthirsty garden gnomes really true? Do these mythical creatures really exist? Then as if summoned from the dead the gnomes arise and strike without fear or mercy. All that stands in their way of total garden domination are these last three brave and foolish souls. / /
