Taken at the Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg, TN. This shot won an honorable mention at the Indiana Sate Fair in my first ever competition. As requested here are the numbers for this image….. ISO 400 / Shutter 1/15 / Aperture f4 / 28mm focal length / Handheld I have to add that this shot makes a stunning print :)

A happy mistake, a daylight savings miscalculation saw me up many hours before sunrise – I shot this image in the twilight with a 4 min exposure.

Original Background Photo / It took me about 3 hours to figure out what to do with the original shot, and another 3 to complete it. I had to improvise with with brushes (i.e – the mermaid’s tail is two plant leaves worked together), but I think it turned out OK. Based on a story I wrote a few years ago about a mermaid being the guardian of dawn. / / Foliage brushes created by me from photos I’ve taken.
