I was in Snow Mass near Aspen, Colorado, for Balloon Glow. At dusk the balloons were inflated. The crowd counted down and all the balloons were lit up at the same time. It was a spectacular scene with the storm clouds moving in. The clouds lit up with the glow. This was the culmination of a wonderful evening which included some of the best barbeque I’ve ever had.

Seen a few of these in my time. Description for DAC: Composited images in photoshop: Sunset base image with trees, duplicated 4 times in Layers Palette in Photoshop. Lightning over mountain layer added and copied twice in Layers Palette and set to Screen in the blending mode drop down menu. Added the Moon last and reduced its opacity to about 75%. Flattened the image and voila..

This one was taken at popular surfing spot Cat Bay on the North West coast of Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia. Got here with the hope of getting some nice long exposures of the high tide coming in and then the clouds opened up… Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens as well as poalrising, graduated and ND filters. A work not of my usual style, This is Pretty much as is, I did amp up the colour to make it a little more vibrant but that is pretty much it, Thats why I have added this one. Sorry if you were expecting more meaning and feeling. Lights may guide you, they may take you on the right path, but do not be fooled into thinking it is the only way, for you may come to the end of the path and find nothing but empty, cold, dark nothing is in font of you. The key is to just turn back and find another path, at least you now know this is not the way. Do not get held up thinking it is wasted time, for travelling the wrong path is the only true way to knowing what is and isn’t your fate. / The Brightest beginnings may be the Darkest ends. Palau de los Correos, Valencia, Spain. (Telecommunications and Post Office). I took this shot around the corner from where ‘Empty’ was taken, the lane way shot, below. This incredibly ornate and decorated building sits in the Place de l’Ajuntament, otherwise known as the Town Square. It shares a home with the Valencia Town Hall, a classic cinema and several bars and restaurants. It’s a busy, bustling area of the city, and is alive with a vibe that keeps you entertained for days.
