First attempt tonight with a blowing light globe. Thanks to Marcus Jones for the hints and to Baldric for being the studio assistant with this. Not something I would recommend unless your particularly careful!!!!!! Canon 400D, 120 – 200 Sigma on a tripod with off camera lighting.
Part Of my 2:14am Series Self Portrait It was 2:14am, I was on my way home but Had a slight craving for a smoke, I didn’t want to go home and waste the Amazing Misty night we were having so I went to the park round the corner. I don’t sleep so I stayed there for an hour or so, 20minutes of taking shots, 40 of just sitting, thinking about life and its incomprehensible way of functioning. A work not of my usual style, This is Pretty much as is, I did amp up the colour to make it a little more vibrant but that is pretty much it, Thats why I have added this one. Sorry if you were expecting more meaning and feeling. Lights may guide you, they may take you on the right path, but do not be fooled into thinking it is the only way, for you may come to the end of the path and find nothing but empty, cold, dark nothing is in font of you. The key is to just turn back and find another path, at least you now know this is not the way. Do not get held up thinking it is wasted time, for travelling the wrong path is the only true way to knowing what is and isn’t your fate. / The Brightest beginnings may be the Darkest ends. So be weary. Featured in: / Photography 101 / Colour Me A Rainbow D90

This ‘close encounter’ is actually a floodight mounted onto the side of my local sports centre. / It was just before dawn on a very foggy morning and the light rays piercing through this tree was just amazing. Canon EOS 400D. 18-80mm. Manual Mode. CS3 to complete.
My depiction of the legendary Badak Api or “Fire Rhino.” Thus sayeth Wikipedia: / “There are legends about rhinoceros stamping out fire in Malaysia, India, and Burma. The mythical rhinoceros has a special name in Malay, badak api, where badak means rhinoceros and api means fire. The animal would come when a fire is lit in the forest and stamp it out.” In this artwork I portrayed the Badak Api as a wise-looking red beast, whose horn sheds a glowing light as he patrols the forests looking for fires to stamp out. My drawing is based off of the Black Rhino, a critically endangered species of Rhino from Africa. Original artwork is 11×14 on Canson paper and is a mixed media piece featuring oil pastels, marker, and gold paint pen. View more of my artwork at www.lynnetteshelley.com
