  • Mixed media – ink, acrylic, collage on canvas. / Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / Theme – ‘The Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi Background: I had working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm/movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, of knowledge, understanding and experience. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /

  • Merely a Glimpse
    by shall

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Sometimes one only gets to see part of the whole, but that part is so breathtaking that no more is needed, sometimes a person will only reveal a part of themselves, and over time one sees a little more and a little more and the glimpse grows and the picture becomes whole…

  • Ghostly Glimpse
    by Michelle Boyer

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Your breath comes in gasps as you rush away from the crooked mansion and its gold-mad inhabitants. I just need a breath of fresh air to clear my head you think. Feeling trapped by the surrounding gloomy swamp you look back at the manor and it seems to glow evilly in the stormy night… you catch a ghostly glimpse of Rudy Styne- but how could that be? You just ran outside after seeing your best friend Lillian stuffing his dead body into a shadowy closet! You squeeze your eyes shut, shudder, and shake your head- when you look again he is gone… For a murder mystery Boredom Competition and adding a little more diversity to my work- have to keep people on their toes :) Created from 3 exposures of the building on a clear blue day and one of the tree and moon, took forever in photoshop :) See the second image (unless you’re not a fan of violence) The Butcher and the third and final part of the story Empty /

It was so beautiful.

  • Glimpse of a Seraph
    by Nikki Trexel

    US$4.66–US$106.40

A beautiful backlit flower reminds me of an angel’s wing…maybe it is a glimpse of that heavenly glory. This was my first experiment with specific/intentional lighting. I shone a flashlight behind this flower in a dark room. I was pretty happy with the results, although the process was a lot more tedious than I’d have guessed. Please see my Etsy listing for a slightly different version of this image – you have the option to purchase a pearlescent (metallic) print. Would look very nice framed... /

  • Ahh yes…revival of an old photo a la the digital phenomenon. There’s nothing like it…now look at the vintage fur and think back to this song by Mary Hopkins: Once upon a time, there was a tavern / Where we used to raise a glass or two / Remember how we laughed away the hours, / Think of all the great things we would do Those were the days, my friend / We thought they’d never end / We’d sing and dance forever and a day / We’d live the life we’d choose / We’d fight and never lose / For we were young and sure to have our way Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di di di di di Then, the busy years went rushing by us / We lost our starry notions on the way / If, by chance, I’d see you in the tavern, / We’d smile at one another and we’d say Those were the days, my friend / We thought they’d never end / We’d sing and dance forever and a day / We’d live the life we’d choose / We’d fight and never lose / Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di di di di di Just tonight, I stood before the tavern / Nothing seemed the way it used to be / In the glass, I saw a strange reflection / Was that lonely woman really me? Those were the days, my friend / We thought they’d never end / We’d sing and dance forever and a day / We’d live the life we’d choose / We’d fight and never lose / Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di di di di di / Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di di di di di Through the door, there came familiar laughter / I saw your face and heard you call my name / Oh, my friend, we’re older but no wiser / For in our hearts, the dreams are still the same Those were the days, my friend / We thought they’d never end / We’d sing and dance forever and a day / We’d live the life we’d choose / We’d fight and never lose / Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di di di di di / Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di / Di di di di di di di di di di La la la la la la / La la la la la la / La la la la la la

I took this photo on our way home from the Sunshine Coast the other day, travelling home at 100ks, bending over backwards in the front seat – so it was a lucky shot… and no, I wasn’t driving lol :-0 I applied Topaz Adjust / Vibrance to the original (below) to make it look painterly. No cropping, composed in-camera. Thanks for looking :-) Original:

I was walking in the meatpacking district of NYC and happened to see this poster via the security gate of a closed for business store one night—after dinner. I loved the look. I know most would just pass it by…but it caught my eye.
