A graphite drawing of a sugar glider with silky grevillea.
Was down at Bells Beach at the top of a cliff watching hang gliders do their thing. Had a few words with this pilot before he jumped, only took a few steps and he was away….............better him than me.
Have to hand it to these guys, all class. / From prepping before the jump off the cliff to getting airborne, it all looked far too easy. / I’m sure nothing could be further from the truth..
3d digital art render of my version of a TV series. Star Gate. Made with Bryce3d.
Sugar Glider Petaurus breviceps. A noctunal Australian mammal which can glide up to 90m. This one was photographed in south-east Queensland in the tree hollow it was using as a daytime shelter.
I had to do a bit of dragonfly whispering to get this shot, but persistance paid off:) Lake Macdonald Queensland
My curious little sugar glider
Hang Gliding / / Hang gliding, since its inception in the 1970s, has developed into a practical and relatively safe sport, using simple yet sophisticated machine built of aluminium, carbon-fibre and high-tech sail fabrics. Manufacturers, both in the UK and overseas, build examples that are respected the world over. What exactly do you do? / Hang glider pilots, suspended from their gliders by a special harness, launch from hills facing into wind, from winches on flat ground or by being towed aloft from an airfield behind a microlight aircraft. The objective is always to stay airborne in lifting currents of air and – for many – to undertake long cross country flights. The UK record for distance currently stands at over 250km and for altitude at an astonishing 16,000ft. /

A paraglider has jumped off the cliff at the famous Bald Hill near Stanwell Tops & soars like an eagle over this heavenly sight of Stanwell Park beach before landing in Stanwell Park. I think that is where they land. This was a fairly hot day. I’ll be back for more shots when it’s a bit cooler & in the meantime dream about soaring like an eagle like they have done. A tandem flight sounds good. A larger view will show the Sea Cliff bridge winding around the coast. / This area is just south of Sydney, Australia. Just because he has feathers, doesn’t mean he can fly! / Damn thing handles like a shopping trolley. Coloured pencils, ink and metal leaf on recycled cardboard.
