/ (Here is the finished work, framed on my clients wall) 11×14 Charcoal, graphite and ink on paper. / This is a project near and dear to my heart, I love animals and had the opportunity to meet this beautiful Shih-tsu, Wicket, before he passed away. This portrait was a memorable tribute to a lifetime friend of my client. I really tried to pour his energy and life into every soft hair I depicted on his coat, every grain of sand I carefully drew and even creating his gentle paw prints left on the beach. Every detail is very important to me to include when remembering such a close companion through a portrait. Each detail drawn comes together and becomes the heart of the remembered loved one. My client’s tears of joy upon seeing their “Wicket” was a perfect ending for this special project. / Original COMMISSIONED $600 (USD) / For commissioned work you can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios
My Painting is Featured in Painters in Modern Times / (Thanks Everyone!) Acrylic on Canvas. / This is an example of my illustration work I create for children’s books and various other commissioned projects. / This is a fantasy piece centered around the life under the ocean. It is very whimsical and also organic. I created a sea vine that is as alive as the fish I created. It is unfurling into the ocean with it’s sea flowers blooming on it. This piece actually has areas that glow in the dark, that add a dimension and fun! Who doesn’t like glow in the dark (be honest). The colors are bold and the shapes and life are simple and captivating to me, which I hope captivates you as well. My painting was featured in the Fine Arts group / (Thanks everyone!) Acrylic on Glass This is the third addition to my series “Journey Through Africa”, the other three include an African tree in a field, a giraffe in it’s habitat and a poison dart frog. This piece is of one of my favorite African birds, a Red Bishop. It’s colors and shape really attracted me to it in creating this work. / This piece like the other two in the series was also painted on an antique mirror. I take something old and forgotten and create something new, yet try to keep the aged or classic feel throughout the piece. / I really love the scroll work of these interesting mirrors teamed with an African theme. Usually just looking at a prospective mirror I see what I will paint next in it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did in creating it! / I am currently working on another new piece in this series… Here are the other works in the series and framed: / / / You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /

www.glennalderson.com The colour is named after the orange fruit, introduced to Europe via the Sanskrit word nāranja. Before this was introduced to the English-speaking world, the colour was referred to (in Old English) as geoluhread, which translates into Modern English as yellow-red. The first recorded use of orange as a colour name in English was in 1512, In the court of King Henry VIII. I only discoverd the name of this area recently while trying to find out where Aldinga meets Willunga. Whites Valley is located between Aldinga & Willunga along Biscay Rd. Because of this I may have to re-name some of my images for there correct locations. / Not only dose this area have a lot of Vines growing , there seems to be a lot more Olive trees growing in the region. Up the road from this location is the town of Willunga also known for its Almonds. On many an idle day have I grieved over lost time. / But it is never lost, my lord. / Thou hast taken every moment of my life in thine own hands. Hidden in the heart of things thou art nourishing seeds into sprouts, / buds into blossoms, and ripening flowers into fruitfulness. I was tired and sleeping on my idle bed / and imagined all work had ceased. / In the morning I woke up / and found my garden full with wonders of flowers.
